Texoma Grown Growers Initial Contact Dialogue
“Hi! My name is (your name). I am working on a project for the Texoma Council of Governments designed to help the members of the Texoma Grown growers association expand their business. Would it be possible for me to speak to (contact name) for just a few minutes?”
If yes, continue with dialogue below line. If no,
“Is (contact name) the best person to help me with gathering some information about (business name), or is there someone else who is knowledgeable about the business that I should speak to?”
If the contact person is the correct person, continue with next dialogue. If someone else, and they are available, continue with dialogue below line. If someone else, and they are NOT available, continue with next dialogue. Update database with new contact info after call.
“Is there a good time that I could call back and reach them, or can I give you my contact information so that they can get back to me?”
If they give you a time, be sure to call back at that time, or give the team a heads up that you will not be available then and get someone else to make the call. If they want your information, give them your contact information (phone and e-mail). Be sure that if you give them a phone number, they WILL be able to contact you with it. If you will only be available to answer that phone during certain hours, specify that. -end-
“Thanks for giving me a few minutes of your time. My name is (your name) and I am working with the University of Dallas on behalf of the Texoma Council of Governments, in order to help them learn more about the members of the Texoma Grown growers Association. The purpose of this study is to explore ways to help grow the businesses of the Texoma Grown members, perhaps through marketing efforts or other assistance.” “In order to accomplish this, we are going to be surveying ALL of the Texoma Grown members in the two weeks between February 13th and February 26th. This survey will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes of your time, and the results will be kept completely confidential. Individual responses will only be available to the independent University of Dallas survey team, and the information provided to Texoma Grown and TCOG will contain only aggregate responses.” “Our goal is to capture the opinions of all of the Texoma Grown members, and since your views are very important to us we want to make this as convenient as possible. Do you have a preference between taking the survey by phone or by e-mail?”
If by phone, confirm a date and time that you will contact them. If by e-mail, confirm the appropriate e-mail address and tell them exactly when they will receive the survey. There will be a reminder call if the survey is not returned within two days of the survey close date. If they are still hesitant to commit to the survey, offer to have someone (Lisa) meet with them face to face on one of the Mondays during the survey period. Stress that their time is appreciated, and we hope to help use the results to help them grow their businesses. If they still will not commit, thank them for their time.
“Do you have any other questions about this survey? “ “Thanks for your time, and I look forward to working with you on this Texoma Council of Governments project. Have a great day!”
