For their own safety and freedom from destruction, all persecutors and opposers will do wisely to pause in their present course toward Jehovah's witnesses and to heed the counsel set down at Acts 5:38,39: "And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: but if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God." God's Word sets forth a plain warning of what shall inescapably overtake those who presumptuously fight against Him by fighting against the work of His people and trying to overthrow it by devilish means. To such ones Jehovah's witnesses say, to quote the language of Jeremiah (26:14, 15): "As for me, behold, I am in your hand: do with me as seemeth good and meet unto you. But know ye for certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof: for of a truth the LORD hath sent me unto you, to speak all these words in your ears."
Heed, then, the advice of God's Word. Do not deny his people the liberty to preach it. Also, in your own behalf, do not fear liberty-haters, but defend and use your own personal liberty to hear, accept and follow the divine Word. So doing, you may enjoy the glorious liberty of the children of God in the righteous NEW WORLD.
