When conflicts occur we use mediation, what do you think this is?

Consider why it is important to have disciplinary procedures on a build site?

Discuss what specifications are and why they are necessary? Use the example of a hospital is going to have 1000 doors all the same including the fixings.

What would you use if you need to present to a customer a range of bricks that had to have a high water resistant? Discuss this as a group.

On building sites there would be a variety of documents used can you come up with a suitable list with explanations? Work with you partner on this.

A large construction project has been given the go ahead what types of documents do you think would be required and why? Write some ideas then we will discuss as a group

During the building of you project how are you going to ensure that the builders comply and the build going to expect to be paid?

The client has request you to build a small garden wall but it was not part of the original contract what do you need before you start?

A new college is being built costing 100 million, when do you think payments should be made? Discuss this with you partner.

. The college has been completed, do you think all the money should be paid, yes or no? Consider advantages and disadvantages?

A new 1000 housing estate is going to be built, each with kitchens and bathrooms. What type of drawings would we require, discuss this with your partner?

. On drawings the buildings and components will be shown in different angles what do you think these are called?

Before you start building your 1000 houses how are you going to work out the levels for the drains and dpc levels? Discuss this with your partner

Why is it important to be able to do some basic calculations in the building trade?

The person who wants the 1000 houses built as asked for a price from your company but also other two others. What will you provide to show your pricing up and what do you think you will need to consider?

You are estimating for your 1000 houses to be built. What type of things should you be considering in your pricing?

Why is it important to include predicted waste when working out estimates?

Your 1000 housing site is going to use a lot of labour how are you going to pay the works, are you going to pay per work completed or time on the site give advantages and disadvantages?

Before starting work on the 1000 housing site who are you going to get together to complete the work from the drawing stage to putting in the drains? Draw up a list yourself, discuss with your partner then we will complete as group work. (The building Team)

During work on the site you will need to discuss changes with the client, architect, suppliers, contractors, bank and even Fred to order your daily sandwich. How do you think you person should be communicated with, include advantages and disadvantages? 7
