very thing that Celita creates seems to be even more beautiful than the one before it!”

I discovered Celita’s sweet sensations when I was adding new friends on Facebook. Before that time I hardly ever visited my Facebook page. Now, nearly everyday I check in too see what Celita’s new creations are for that day. It amazes me how soon she turns them out! Whenever she posts something new she always gets positive feedback. Most people say things like: “Wow, everything looks great!” or “You are so creative!” On one occasion I was so wowed by one of her creative sweets that I had to ask her how does she come up with her creative designs. Celita says that “inspiration comes from everywhere”.

CALVIN STONES Calvin Berry, a Lanier High School graduate, is the owner of Calvin Stones Manufacturing Jewelers & Gifts located at 2414 Terry Road in Jackson. After graduating from high school, he moved to Chicago where he lived and worked in the jewelry business for 20 years. As a result, Mr. Berry has a lot of notoriety in the jewelry business. He is known for his exceptional work in as far away as Detroit and Canada. In fact, Calvin says that many of his best customers will only entrust their jewelry to him for repairs or recreation of old jewelry pieces. Prior to him owning the jewelry store he worked here when it was Holloway Jewelry Store. After Mr. Holloway retired, Berry took over and has been operating it for 7 years now.

Calvin has also been recognized for his generosity. Back in 2007, Natasha Norman, a JSU student, was murdered by her boyfriend who was convicted for the heinous crime. In an effort to bring her killer to justice, Mr. Berry offered a reward in the form of a $4,000 One Carrot Diamond Cluster Ring that he custom designed in her honor with her name inside.

Calvin was featured in the Wall Street Journal. Only a few businesses were chosen to be honored on that occasion. Mr. Berry’s outstanding expertise and skill earned him the honor.

As it happened, the police were able to find the perpetrator of the murder through their own internal investigations. But Calvin felt a constant pain in his stomach because he felt the ring did not belong to him. So he got in touch with a family member of Ms. Norman so that he could turn the ring over to Natasha’s mother.

He was also featured in the magazine called: Jeweler Magazine which recognizes outstanding jewelers in the business.

When he was able to deliver the ring to Natasha’s mom Calvin said that the pain in his stomach was immediately released.

Only top notch jewelers receive these distinctions!

Her mother was overwhelmed with gratitude. She was also surprised that a complete stranger could be so kind.

Convenient store front parking and “in house” jewelry repairs sets Calvin Stones jewelry store apart. Most jewelry stores send their repairs off to places like his to be repaired. You can save yourself weeks of waiting time by letting Calvin Stones do them in-house. I asked Calvin when does a customer know if something is worth getting repaired. Calvin responded: “I always tell them the truth”

Today, Calvin has expanded his jewelry business to include men’s rings, silver gifts, jewelry boxes, handbags, clocks and much more! His customers love the expansion!
