SITUATION

Studio Krátký, Marques AT S S Z S 2 0 1 8 / 2 0 1 9 Nusle, Prague 2 Czech republic The Nusle Bridge is one of the modern symbols of Prague. It originated at a time when the country was under a socialist regime and when and when transport was placed above the interests of the public. As a result, the Nusle Quarter, which is situated directly below the Nusle Bridge, has suffered a decline in population and an overall decline since the construction of the new bridge. There were created barriers for pedestrians limiting the overall permeability of the area. Naturally, part of the task of designing this project was to create an alternative connection between the two sides of the Nusle Valley - Charles and Vyšehrad. new. The footbridge floats from the free space to the roofs of the new museum, where this is not possible, supported by narrow steel columns. Nusle Bridge is associated with many things - socialism, suicides, eternal traffic jams. I decided to use this dark side in my proposal rather than to fight it in vain, thus creating a program of the Museum of Totalitarian Regimes. The museum building is located below the central part of the Nusle Bridge. It is entirely constructed of exposed concrete with the intention of acting hard and hard. The above-ground part of the museum is divided into three masses interconnected by a footbridge and underground. The materials are skewed and give the feeling of falling. The interior is very simple and closed. Daylight is led through only a few windows and central skylights. The whole space is very dark and the architectural expression is based on the play of light and shadow.

riverside Studio Klokočka, Zdráhalová AT V Z L S 2 0 1 7 / 2 0 1 8 Modřany, Praha 12 Czech republic Coauthors: Marek Unger, Jana Fišarová At the beginning of our proposal, we faced a complex question. What makes Modřany unique and memorable? Undoubtedly the most lively place is the embankment of the Vltava River and therefore we chose the river as the main theme. Its importance is further enhanced by the fact that the confluence of the Vltava and Berounka rivers is nearby and thus creates a unique and memorable point throughout Prague. The problem, however, is that between the river and the city is a barrier wall with a train. The aim of our design was visual and physical connection of the city with the waterfront. We want to achieve this by replacing the rampart with a viaduct, which also creates unique places for various additional functions and thus becomes another symbol of Modřany.

The central part of the project is the newly revitalized square supplemented with public buildings, specifically the town hall and services of a daily nature. On the northern side of the area we are situated larger terraced mass units reflecting the neighboring buildings. Thanks to its good connection to the center, the site has the potential to attract commercial entities such as administration and small, disturbing production. The parterre is suitable for services with smaller space requirements.

Part of transport concept solution there is also P + R parking. It is strategically located on the junction of two backbone roads Komořanská and Modřanská streets, where the bus stop is also located. On the ground floor there is a commercial space.

We are extending the existing Modřanská Street with a green tram line and bicycle lanes in both directions. In parallel with Modřanská Street, there is a service road through the territory, which connects to Modřanská Street in only two places and thus allows the smoothest possible traffic on the main road.

The ferry is replaced by a footbridge for cyclists, which connects Modřany with the proposed camp and swimming pool in Lahovičky.

The main function of the southern region is housing. Komořanská Street is lined on both sides by apartment buildings forming a coherent whole. The southwestern part is complemented by low-rise family houses.

The only private area of our design is the extension of the residential area in the southeast.

The entire designed development is located in a green environment. The gardens on the western part of the park are transformed into a park.

In place of wetlands, we create a system of footpaths and footbridges across the lakes to make this valuable bio-corridor accessible. On the waterfront we create a public park with a system of paths for walking and cycling.

By replacing the rampart with a viaduct, Modřany loses its natural flood protection. So we had to focus on this aspect when designing. The designed viaduct has built-in water barriers in the ceiling construction and as the level of the Vltava rises, the barriers are lowered and protect the area against flooding.


At the intersection of the center of Modřany and the riverside park, a jetty with a staircase floats above the river, which is in direct contact with the train station located on the viaduct. The pier also includes a staircase that completes the rest zone.


The central point of the southern part of the area is the square, which is dominated by the historical chimney of the former sugar factory building. This area can be used for various events such as concerts or farmers’ markets.

Between administrative buildings there is a smaller park area surrounded by shops and various restaurants. These surfaces serve as a calming element for an otherwise busy environment.


For smoother and more comfortable connection of pedestrians and cyclists to the center of Modřany we create wide underpasses under Modřanskå street, which are designed for wheelchair users.

In the southern part there are wetlands, which are a valuable biological monument. There are paths leading through the area, which in some places turn into bridges and extend above the surface of lakes and rivers.

bicycle oriented development Urban studio - Analysis University of Antwerp, Belgium AT U Z S 2 0 1 7 / 2 0 1 8 Antwerp Belgium Coauthors: Femke van Acker, Aude van Brandt, Marta WaloszkovĂĄ Belgium, together with several other countries, is the European leader in sustainable and cycling-oriented urban development. Nowadays, the city ring road encircles the historic center in the form of a high-speed road, creating a barrier. In the near future, however, it will be moved underground and replaced by a park and cultural institutions on the surface. The area is located in the south of the ring road and the main theme was the connection of the area with the city center. Despite Belgium‘s rainy climate, cycling is an important means of transport, mainly due to poor public transport and constant congestion throughout the city. In our solution, we have defined the cycling aspects we want to achieve - leading cycling races, a pleasant cycle path environment, and improving the accessibility of the city and features for cyclists. We have focused on three aspects that will help us make these improvements - green structures, multi-modal transport hubs and deployment of functions.

Cílem projektu byl návrh nové Fakulty architektury v Drážďanech. Zadaná parcela se nachází v kampusu Technické univerzity Dresden v těsné blízkosti Faktulty stavební na severní straně a Auditoria na straně jižní. Z východní strany pozemek přiléhá k rušné magistrále, zatímco ze západní strany na něj navazuje rezidenční čtvť. Hlavní myšlenkou celého projektu bylo oddělení bakalářských ateliérů od zbytku prostor. Bakalářské ateliéry jsou jakousi architektonickou školkou, místem, kde by studenti měli podněcovat svou faktazii a sami zkoumat, kde jsou hranice reality. Magisterské ateliéry na druhou stranu už se orientují více na technickou stránku, proto je umisťuji do hlavní budovy, která je zázemím všech předmětů, které jim dávají tento technický základ. Hlavní budova má šest nadzemních a jedno podzemní podlaží a je podobně jako ateliérová část rozdělena do pěti samostaných bloků, z nichž každý má svou funkci. Tyto bloky jsou odlišeny i vizuálně - je na nich použit obkladový materiál připomínající fasádu. Přízemí je rozděleno do dvou výškových úrovní a reaguje tak na svažován terénu, nachází se zde kavárna, copy centrum a další kanceláře. Poslední šesté podlaží je pak určeno výhradně magisterským ateliérům, které jsou navrženy jako open space. Venkovní část pozemku je řešena jako dvojúrovňová. První úroveň přímo navazuje na prostor před fakultou stavební. Druhá úroveň tvoří malé náměstí mezi bakalářskými ateliéry a dotváří tak vlastní oddělený svět. Nachází se zde zeleň a pobytové schodiště okolo ní.

studio Plicka AT O S L S 2 0 1 4 / 2 0 1 5 Senovážné náměstí, České Budějovice Czech republic When creating the project, the task of the group of students was to create cultural institutions for the city of České Budějovice. My task was to work out the theater building. The building is designed on Senovážné Square, which is currently located parking and unsightly green. My task was to restore the character of the square here. Under the square runs a river, which is currently hidden under the surface, which I decided to uncover and create a covered colonnade around it. The theater has the main entrance through the colonnade from the square to the foyer. The part of the building not required for the theater function is intended as a separate office space, which can be rented as needed. There is an open summer gallery on the roof. Beige stone reflecting the surrounding historic houses is chosen as the facade material. The space of the square is paved and there are built fountains in the pavement.

theatre foyer interior Studio Soukenka AT R N L S 2 0 1 8 / 2 0 1 9 České Budějovice Czech republic The Nusle Bridge is one of the modern symbols of Prague. It originated at a time when the country was under a socialist regime and when and when transport was placed above the interests of the public. As a result, the Nusle Quarter, which is situated directly below the Nusle Bridge, has suffered a decline in population and an overall decline since the construction of the new bridge. There were created barriers for pedestrians limiting the overall permeability of the area. Naturally, part of the task of designing this project was to create an alternative connection between the two sides of the Nusle Valley - Charles and Vyšehrad. new. The footbridge floats from the free space to the roofs of the new museum, where this is not possible, supported by narrow steel columns. Nusle Bridge is associated with many things - socialism, suicides, eternal traffic jams. I decided to use this dark side in my proposal rather than to fight it in vain, thus creating a program of the Museum of Totalitarian Regimes. The museum building is located below the central part of the Nusle Bridge. It is entirely constructed of exposed concrete with the intention of acting hard and hard. The above-ground part of the museum is divided into three masses interconnected by a footbridge and underground. The materials are skewed and give the feeling of falling. The interior is very simple and closed. Daylight is led through only a few windows and central skylights. The whole space is very dark and the architectural expression is based on the play of light and shadow.

multifunctional house studio 1+XX Jiran, Lisecová AT B S Z S 2 0 1 4 / 2 0 1 5 Masarykova, Železný brod Czech republic The land is located on a small square in Zelezny Brod. Currently there is a bus stop and a public toilet. First, it was necessary to define the shape of the square. Although the main task was to create an apartment building, due to lack of shopping opportunities in the area, I decided to place services in the parterre. I am replacing the public toilet and placing a café for people waiting for the bus. In the part of the house are also offices. Fourteen apartments are designed in the house, twelve of them are one-roomed and two are large. The small ones were intended as a start to life for young people. There is a larger room where the kitchen and living room are separated. The larger apartments are designed for family living and have a large space connecting the kitchen and living room and access to a spacious balcony. In the part of the square there are two rooms connected by spacious dressing room and bedroom with bathroom. The hallmarks of the house are large windows, which provide the interior with plenty of light and opricky separates housing and services.

I. The width and area of the passage is constant. Each shop must have an entrance from the passage (another entrance from the street is possible). The width of the passage can be extended to the detriment of specific landowners. The axis of the arcade forms the boundary of the individual parcels.

part I regulation plan coauthors: Natalia Oweyssi, Daniel Parachin, Jan Poslušný The land is a narrow plot stretching between the railway and busy class. With our proposal we tried to restore the original development, which still here thirty years ago. The changes were mainly caused by the construction of the metro and tunnel. The intention was therefore to restore the essence of this place. The land is divided into two parts and therefore there are two different situations. The eastern part adjoins the residential area, while the western part faces five-story houses. The aim here was to unite these two different parts. The land was divided into several parts of the same size, each intended for one house. The first floor covers the entire plot and shops are located here. The floor is intersected with a passage from which there is an entrance to all shops and thus we follow the tradition of Prague passages. The rainbow floor is only partially built and in the undeveloped part there is a semipublic garden for all inhabitants of the block.

II. The eastern passage must be sufficiently zenitally illuminated. The western passage, due to its location, can be illuminated in front of the business premises in certain sections. The illumination shall be verified and, where appropriate, supplemented by other zenith or artificial illumination.

III. At least 50% of the second floor of the eastern part of the parcel must be accessible to all owners of individual parcels. In the western part of the land it is then 60%. At the same time, it is necessary to maintain permeability of individual parcels. If interested in setting up a private garden, the owner can claim an additional 10% of the public space for private purposes.


IV. Underground floors in both parts of the land can be adjusted by agreement between the owners of the plots so that the garage will be located in only one part of the basement. The number of garages must be at least 24. The garage entrance and exit is situated from Milady HorĂĄkovĂŠ Street for easy access.

V. The eastern part of the plot contains one underground and three aboveground floors. The western part of the land then one underground and four floors. The first floor of both plots utilizes the maximum capacity of the built-up areas. Another above-ground floor of the eastern part can be built up / built up to a maximum of 50% of the plot area of the parcel. In the western part of the land, the second floor is fully built up and in the other floors the maximum built-up area is 40% of the area. When building a parcel, the volume must obey the shading angle so as not to disadvantage the other owners. One floor has a maximum height of 4 meters.

part II house The first task of this project was to create a regulatory plan oro plot located near Hradčanská metro station. This proposal has been processed in groups. After completing the draft of the regulatory plan, the studio leaders determined the resulting regulatory plan, which we followed when designing the house. When designing my own house, I placed a shop on the ground floor - a bookstore with a study and the remaining two floors serve as a family house. A staircase serves as a concept for the whole design. I applied it not only in the mass of the house, but also in the interior. In bookstores, the different levels distinguish the separation of books. In addition, there are also study rooms. The residential area is entered from the right side of the house from Milady Horákové Street. On the second floor there are common areas of the house - kitchen and living room, these two spaces are again separated by levels. On the third floor there are private rooms - children’s room and bedrooms. The second floor is connected to a semi-public garden. The third floor has a private terrace. The whole house is designed as a reinforced concrete skeleton, where all the space between the columns is filled with glass to get as much light into the interior. Milk glass is used from the street to maximize privacy.
