A’GACI: A Brief History 

Two brothers launched A’Gaci in 1972

Now more than 40 stores exist nationwide

This company is determined to help women of all ages find styles that would “complement both their growing wardrobes and their ever-changing and -differing lifestyles”

The store started off in Texas and the current CEO Jon Won, helped spread the now popular store nationwide.


Evaluation of A’GACI’s Blazer

Merchandise presentation: hanging.

Visual Merchandising: it was also dressed on a mannequin over a royal blue dress.

Customer Service: a couple sales associates greeted me and asked if I needed any assistance.

Size, Layout, Restriction of the Fitting Room: A’GACI is a expansive, two level store. The layout consists of sections cateogorized by theme/style and color. The fitting rooms were big, but very dirty. 

Overall Experience: My overall shopping experience was pleasant. The Blazer: Garment designer/manufacturer label: A’GACI

Signature Design Elements: Motorcycle style jacket, black and white colorblock. Image of Product as it relates to the Retailer: A statement piece to be worn either casually with jeans, or over a nice dress. 

Moderate Brand: TOPSHOP


TopShop: A Brief History 

The TopShop brand began in the basement of a department store back in 1964

Now they have over 300 stores in the UK and have stretched overseas to NYC & Chicago

In 2002 TopShop collaborated with & sponsored NEWGEN

Allows them to scoop up, and provide an international platform for the newest design stars


Evaluation of Topshop’s blazer

Merchandise presentation: Hanging.

Visual Merchandising: None.

Customer Service: Only one sales associate asked me if I needed help.

Size, Layout, Restriction of the Fitting Room: This store was also expansive, has 2 levels, but the fitting rooms were nice and very well lit.

Overall Experience: It was pleasant to be here, more due to the layout and visual merchandising throughout the store. The Blazer:

Detailed Garment Description: Lime, tailored crop jacket in boucle. Co-ords to shorts.

Styling- Classic.

Signature Design Elements: The Boucle fabric, and classic fit.

Better Brand: Bebe


Bebe: A Brief History 

In 1976 Manny Mashouf founded the original Bebe Boutique in San Francisco ◦ He is also the current CEO

Hamlet’s quote, “To be, or not to be.” inspired the store’s name

The Bebe woman is not defined by her look, but by her attitude: assertive, sexy, stylish, confident & cutting edge

Evaluation of Bebe’s blazer

Merchandise presentation: Hanging.

Visual Merchandising: Dressed on a Mannequin with a black maxi dress.

Customer Service: A woman kindly greeted me at the door, but other than that I felt like associates were giving me the you-can’tafford-this look.

Size, Layout, Restriction of the Fitting Room: Bebe had a smaller but very organized layout, only one floor, and fitting rooms were very nice and well lit.

Overall Experience: Kind of awkward, but I wish I could afford this store. The Blazer:
