Cultural institutions should stop putting their efforts on attracting tourism and producing a national image, and rather focus on their true objective: the production of culture. Only then can we move from cultural policies that focus on the processes of accumulation −which capitalize and reify our relationships− to dynamics that place life and the value of understanding ourselves as interdependent beings at the center.

We are running out of time. The opportunities to build a project of humanity that revolves around social justice are fewer and fewer. It has to be done by waning and, as Segato says, by moving from the historical project of things, to the historical project of bonds.6
She refers to the pedagogies of cruelty5, the acts and practices that teach, habituate and program subjects to transmute the living and their vitality into things. In other words, they are the pedagogies that anesthetize us in the face of social injustice and cause us to swing naturally towards the logic of capital, while leaving aside the logic that protects life.

Cultural institutions are carriers and reproducers of these social orders. Therefore, it is urgent to consider, at each step we take, what is the ultimate purpose of the proposals and programs we develop. Culture has to disengage from all the processes of capitalization that have obscured it,
