Once known around the Ohio Valley Conference as “the Temple of Doom” due to its large capacity and imposing atmosphere, the Hooper T. Eblen Center is the OVC’s third-largest arena and one of its most hostile. The building is named for longtime athletic administrator and coach Hooper Eblen, who served the university for 33 years and was instrumental in planning construction of both the Eblen Center and the home of the Golden Eagle football team, Tucker Stadium. The arena features 7,500 seats with cushioned theater-style seating throughout the lower level.
