Tenbury Music Festival

Teme Valley Times

On Saturday 18 June, Tenbury’s second Music Festival came alive with musicians, playing on two stages from noon to midnight. The weather meant that the new-for-this-year marquee offered shelter from sun rather than rain, providing shade during the afternoon and giving festival-goers a meeting place. Families, music-lovers and people who wanted to relax for a few hours with friends could enjoy the friendly atmosphere and even some of the not-so-young enjoyed a dance! The crowd were entertained by Obscure, Abi K, Dave Onions, Sticky Wicket, Steve Ajao, Arcadia Roots, Alternative Dubstep Orchestra, Mark Leedham, Goodnight Lenin, Glen Wilson, Robbie Blunt Band, Quill, Olivia Peyech, Steve Gibbons, Son of John and the Fabulous Bordellos, all helping to ‘Keep Music Live’ - the mantra of the festival. The organisers commented “There were so many other people involved with the festival; sponsors, the WI, sound engineers, stewards, security, lighting, marquees and all the stallholders, and last but not least, we had a great audience who listened to the music and danced the night away. A big thank you to everyone.” Next year’s festival will also be supporting the Teenage Cancer Trust and the organisers promise “a few more pleasant surprises” as they develop and improve the festival, including more loos, a larger acoustic stage, better lighting at the entrance and some vegan food outlets. They promise some very special bands and they said that if you have any concerns or suggestions, or if you would like to buy a Festival T-Shirt, you can contact them through their Facebook page: Tenbury Music Festival. Many thanks to “Tate Taylor” for the featured photos of the bands.
