1. Fire station park: Urban living room
STAGE ONE : A PLACE TO BE The proposal adds seating and a sculptural attraction to make the place engaging and then add further infrastructure to make it permanent place to be by re-imaginig trees in an urban way that also work as water-catchers.
STAGE TWO : A WAY THROUGH The park is amplified by taking over the underused slip lane and traffic island, making the twopart park into a gateway that is further amplified by the addition of more reimagined trees. The idea of re-imagining the tree not only attracts people to take a closer look but also works as an arched gateway that anounces you into the place.

CHANGING USES: ONE TO MANY To transform an underused entrance plaza of a metro station into the lungs of he area with the formation of a garden that not only breaths fresh life into the almost empty area but also compliments the arts scene that seeds itself from a street that leads to the station through its interactive light and media displays.

CONFIGURING ACTIVITES ON EXISTING FLOOR GRID The fastest, easiest, cheapest way of development was to change least opssible things. Having received a 5’ X 5’ floor grid ready on site, Activity spaces were shaped to form a modular layout.
VIBRANT A-CROSS SECTIONS A change in level of the walkway, A path winding around a beautiful flower bed, A bench in the middle of aromatic wild flowers, Performance stage and stepped sitting in middle that overlooks a giant media screen, All found in the same available width brings in opportunities for different types of interactions and experience making it vibrant ALL A-CROSS.

AIM : To bring density to the scattered form of suburbs so as to cater to Atlanta’s projected tripling population. CREARE PUBLIC SPACE
With its proximity to the highway and America’s love for cars, Cascade Greens can be the dense urban entry in the suburban residential market. All the while taking care of not harming any of the trees on the site.
BUILDING TYPES EXPLORED: To strategically insert more density into a suburban setting a drastic change in the morphology had to be avoided and therefore a mix of ‘cottage courts’ as buffer were used and further densified into ‘townhouses’ and ‘Live-work units’ along the main road. The density through this was gradually changed to merge in the surrounding while presenting itself as an urban development from the front .
A community in most cases is defined by its streets. The streetscape in Cascade Greens varies from a typical urban to suburban character. Ranging from a typical section (2) of townhouses on both sides to a promenade (3), we tried to open them up to a public space on one side almost everywhere (1).
