What is a zine? A zine is a self published underground publication, an abbreviated magazine of sorts. TeenLine Hawaii strives to empower teens to become active community participants, raise awareness on issues teens are facing and provide credible resources on a variety of issues like sex, alcohol, drugs, emotions, family, relationships, school, violence, GBLTQ, foster care, activism and personal development. “Through Our Eyes” is created and distributed free for youth across the state. Cyber bullying By Makeda Morris
It’s the new craze, more popular than the newest album, and more a daptive than the stock market. Crazy riddle, right? Well, it is cyber bullying. Or more simply put, harassment through use of technology. The worst part is that it is so vast, it can range from a simple “ew is that you?” picture comment, to an entire web page dedicated to hating someone. Schools often require computers for typing up assignments, emailing peers and teachers, and checking grades and homework online. Then there is the fun social stuff like facebook, BlogSpot, MySpace, twitter, tumblr, formspring, YouTube, and texting. We spend so much time using technology, but are we aware of what we’re doing? Have you ever noticed that boost of confidence everyone gets online? That is the type of confidence that can help lead to or diminish cyber bulling. By doing simple things like noticing and confronting it, we can help put a stop to cyber bulling. Let’s say that someone comments negatively on someone's post. We can do something as simple as typing “that wasn’t cool”. Even if you are shy or feel uncomfortable doing that, you can do things like “liking” other peoples post who check the bully. If you’re more radical about the cause to get rid of cyber bulling you can report any hate pages you come across. Don’t be afraid to speak out. Most importantly, don’t be the cause of it. If you are being bullied online you can take action like blocking people, or reporting posts. Though it may seem corny, you can also talk to an adult you trust. Causing hate online makes situations more difficult to contain and deal with appropriately. Quite frankly, it is immature and reckless. We all can do things to help end cyber bullying, and it will mean a lot to those being negatively affected.
FACTS 35% of youth have been threatened online
58% of bullied youth have not told their parents or an adult about what happened

What does your handwriting say about YOU?
First write this short paragraph (the first paragraph of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone) on unlined paper. Then take our quiz to see how accurately your handwriting describes you! “Mr and Mrs Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much. They were the last people you'd expect to be involved in anything strange or mysterious, because they just didn't hold with such nonsense.” 1. How do your letters slope? A) More to the left B) Straight up and down C) More to the right
Graphology is the study of handwriting and its application as a tool for understanding the human psyche. It has been around for hundreds of years, and many think that handwriting says something about one’s personality! Handwriting experts called "graphologists" analyze up to 300 different features of a person's writing to learn about someone’s personality. Though we can’t analyze all aspects of your writing, we can get some basic things stated about what makes you, you!
2. Are the letters in your words: A) Kind of connected, depending on the letters? B) Fully connected, with clear breaks between words? C) Unconnected (like print rather than cursive)
Mostly A’s: Sophisticated Scripter Your handwriting reveals you as a thoughtful, intellectual type who avoids fake people and places where there's lots of noise and crowds. Being creative is probably easy for you, but expressing it in front of a large group is not. You might write in a blog or journal and enjoy things that are classic rather than trendy.
3. Between words, do you leave: A) Wide spaces? B) Narrow spaces? C) No spaces
Mostly B’s: Eclectic Expressionist Your handwriting shows that you are first and foremost an individual. A little rebellious and a lot quirky, routines bore you and you're happiest when things aren't operating on a set schedule..you like to be spontaneous! You have a great intuition, have a diverse list of friends, and your style is always changing. You probably have a passion for uniqueness and always seem to be busy!
4.Which color ink do you prefer? A) Black B) Red C) Blue
5. What does your t-bar (the line that crosses your “t”) look like? A) Mostly to the left of the “t” B) Right in the middle C) Mostly to the right of the “t”
Mostly C’s: Ambitious Author You have the handwriting of a person who's fierce and has goals, but in the nicest possible way. You are known as a smarty pants by those around you and probably have the ability to stay chill when everyone else is freaking out. You probably do well in subjects that require complex or analytical thinking, whether it's deciphering Shakespeare or super scary math equations. You have big dreams and aspirations and believe in working hard.
