fall in love with turner falls Turner Falls Park, the oldest park in Oklahoma, has received national publicity and has served as a classroom for the naturalist. Many springs from the world famous Arbuckle Mountains form Honey Creek, which cascades down a seventy-seven (77) foot fall to a natural swimming pool, making the majestic Turner Falls the largest waterfall in Oklahoma. The park is accented with beautiful picnic areas, natural trails, caves, geological wonders and two natural swimming pools unique in nature. The Turner Falls area has been described as one of the three geological windows into our past. The Grand Canyon and the Black Hills of South Dakota are the other two areas that hold this unique distinction. As early as 1868, Turner Falls was known as a popular recreational area. The City of Davis operates the park and you are welcome to enjoy the 720 acres of fun in the “Heart of the Arbuckle Mountain. When you visit the Turner Falls area, you are exploring the natural wonder of Oklahoma. Some describe it as a diamond in the rough, while others describe it as the “Gem of the Arbuckles. Camping is available for those who wish to experience a closeness to one of God’s greatest gifts to nature. Plans are never ending at Turner Falls, with the planning board working to develop even more attractions. Visit Turner Falls Park and experience the hospitality of Arbuckle Moutain Area. The whole family will appreciate the clean and safe p has to offer. fun the park o outdoor

pauls valley – not your ordinary small town Pauls Valley, OK is a beautiful little city nestled in the basin of the Washita River. Established in 1857, the town grew and prospered with the addition of the railroad in 1887. The quaint downtown, with its brick streets, has been named a Main Street City and is a Nationally Registered Historic District. An abundance of attractions and festivals make this town a delightful stop for visitors. Amtrak’s Heartland Flyer makes daily stops in Pauls Valley on its journey between Oklahoma City and Fort Worth at the Santa Fe Depot. This 1905 structure was saved from demolition in 1989 and has gone from boarded up eyesore to a jewel of the downtown and serves as the Santa Fe Depot Museum. Now housing a collection of photos, memorabilia and pioneer artifacts, the museum also has a steam locomotive, coal tender and vintage red caboose just outside. The Toy and Action Figure Museum is a unique opportunity for guests of all ages. For the kids, a trip into the fantasy world of cartoon and super hero characters is alive and in full color. For the young at heart, this is a blissful stroll down memory lane. The displays show how action figures come to be, from conception through manufacturing. The younger set will particularly enjoy the hands on play room. Another memory-making stop in Downtown Pauls Valley is Jingle and Jangle. Kids can let their creative side go wild and build candy creations of their own making. Kits of gingerbread, giant cookies and cupcakes start as the basis for their masterpieces, accessorized by gum drops, licorice sticks, gummies, hard candies, frosting and so much more. Parents could be co-creators or take this chance to shop in the candy shop for gift baskets or some of their favorite candy. When the artwork is complete, everyone can celebrate at Jingle and Jangle’s delectable sundae bar. Oh yes, be sure to bring the camera for pictures of your artist and their creation. Be sure to save time to stroll the brick streets and get a bit of shopping in. The Corner Market is a favorite place to visit. Located inside of an historic pharmacy, the store offers a wonderful selection of home décor, gourmet foods, jewelry, kitchen and tabletop accessories and unique and sweet baby items. Sit a spell at the old soda fountain and have an Italian Crème Soda or a hot or iced latte. Just around the corner, Things We Like holds unexpected treasures. The shop houses nine rooms of home décor of every style, art, glassware, fashion acces-
