In 2003, Cindy Monroe began Thirty-One Gifts in the basement of her Chattanooga, Tennessee, home with a dream and a calling: to provide an opportunity for women to achieve financial freedom, find personal fulfillment and realize their dreams through becoming successful business owners. In 2014, along came Jewell! Jewell is the story of two sisters, Christie Jewell Woodfin and Cindy Jewell Monroe, whose goals for life were both alike and different. One wanted to experience the corporate world, while the other drove toward entrepreneurship. One wanted to stay with her kids through Kindergarten, while the other wanted to work outside the home. They were two sides of the

same coin, both with a deep love of family and faith, and both called to give back and be part of something bigger than themselves. The inspiration had begun that grew into Jewell and a collection of gorgeous handbags and accessories with an eye towards how the modern women of today can organize her life with our unique patent-pending pockets and fashion organizers.

Jewel Kade is a direct selling company based in Alpine, Utah, that designs handcrafted jewelry and personalized gifts. The company began in jewelry designer Janet Kinkade’s basement – much like Thirty-One Gifts origins with Cindy.

Today Show, American Idol and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. In December 2014, ThirtyOne Gifts officially acquired Jewel Kade. Many of the Jewel Kade jewelry products began to be sold as part of the new JK by Thirty-One collection.

The most popular and effective way to party is at a Face-to-Face party! Offer solutions as you highlight products from different areas of the catalog. Share solutions that you have found using a couple of products. Keep planting those booking and sponsoring seeds - you never know when someone is going to have that “hmmm” moment! You don’t have to demonstrate every product in your kit - let your audience tell you what products to present. Get to know them before the party as they arrive by discovering their interests.

Wrap up and bring your party to a close. Connect with each guest during your FullService Checkout. Spend about 5 minutes per guest and make sure that you are providing great customer service, making a connection with them, and most importantly - ask them if they would like to book a party or join your team! Help her reach out to guests before the party by calling, texting, or emailing beforehand to confirm attendance. Get them excited and plant booking seeds. Demonstrate your passion for getting her what she wants. Tell her how much you’re looking forward to meeting her.

Arrive early to greet guests, connect and learn about them, and build rapport. Consider name-tags for a personalized approach. Mention the benefits of booking a party to guests at least three times during your presentation. Celebrate your Hostess and highlight her rewards publicly. Help guests create a wish list and invite them to host and get those products for free. Invite each guest personally to host – it’s a courtesy of your business to offer them this experience.

Ask about family, career and life and really listen. Thank them for purchasing and extend an invitation to host a party. Be ready to offer dates/timeframes that could work. Be flexible. If a home-party isn’t her style, try a different venue like a coffee shop or break room at work.

SELLING WITHOUT SELLING

Social media can prove to be a great tool when used effectively. Here are a few pointers about the different social media channels available to benefit you and your Thirty-One business and how to use them to share. Strive to keep Customers, Hostesses and friends excited and engaged with what’s new and exciting with Thirty-One! The key to selling without being pushy on social media is engaging and socializing with Customers by sharing specials and updates and keeping your presence new and fresh! Be sure to show off how you use your products every day. Think of social media as your Thirty-One storefront window. Everything you post provides your Customers with a little peek inside the store. Your goal – keep their interest, but not give it all away – by posting conversation starters and creating excitement. Start by posting photos of one of your favorite products in use, share items from the Thirty-One Gifts social media outlets or by simply taking a picture of how you’re using it! Keep posts relevant, fresh and intentional and strive to maintain a ratio of 1 business post to every 10 personal posts.

Here are a few ways to get started! 1. Keep business and personal pages separated. Consider creating a VIP Group for your customers to join and post your love of 31 inside your business group. This also helps keep you out of Facebook jail - yes, it’s real! 2. Invite Customers to take pictures of products they’re using and tag you so you can share it! Add a comment like this: “Check out how my Hostess, Linda, is using her new Out & About Thermal! She got it FREE at her party!” 3. Take photos of products you’re using and post on social media. Caption with something like, “I love my new Deluxe Utility Tote! We’ve got everything for a fall harvest picnic! - or - For the sports mom!” 4.
