My country France


Facts about my country  France holds 65 million inhabitants.  It’s capital is Paris  The motto of France is : Liberty, Equality, Fraternity  The anthem is called « La Marseillaise »  The word “salut” means both “hello” and “goodbye”  It’s the mother tongue of 75 million people worldwide.  Mont-Blanc is the highest peak in Europe  France has the highest number of ski resorts.  France created the first universal declaration of human rights in 1789.


 France extends from the Mediterranean Sea to the English

Channel and the North Sea, and from the Rhine to the Atlantic Ocean.

 The president of France is François Hollande and the

prime minister is Jean Marc Ayrault.

 It’s currency is euro.


Paris ď‚— Paris is the capital and largest city of France. It is

situated on the river Seine, in northern France, at the heart of the ĂŽle-de-France region. The city of Paris, within its administrative limits (the 20 arrondissements), has a population of about 2,230,000. This area is one of the largest population centers in Europe.


Avenue des Champs-Elysées  The Avenue des Champs-Élysées is a street in

Paris. With its cinemas, cafés, luxury specialty shops. The Champs-Élysées is arguably the most famous street and one of the most expensive real estate in the world. Monuments are also on the street, including the Arc de Triomphe and the Place de la Concorde.


My town Poitiers ď‚— Poitiers is the chief town of the department of Vienne

and the capital of the Poitou-Charentes region. Poitiers is a Regional capital, university town.

ď‚— Poitiers has 91 345 inhabitants.


The French Alpes  The French Alps are a part of the Alpes mountain

range which stand within France, located in the Rhône-Alpes and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Aur regions.


My School  The Lycée Camille Guérin holds 1500 students

including A levels students. It’s located in Poitiers and has a boarding school.
