Step 1: WRITING

In pairs, build a story around these four pictures. Make sure all are included before handing out your final version.

I bought a model Lotus car on eBay for just 50 pence but my mother was very angry with this purchase. According to her, in this website, if people buy something with 50p, it means it has absolutely no quality. Can’t she understand it is for my collection??? Daniela + Flávio We have a 50p coin and a Lotus car which we are trying to sell on eBay. After a while we do manage to sell the car but no one seems interested in our coin. We knew the car had a high value in the market but the coin is from a priceless collection! We desperately need to sell the coin as well because we want to buy a house. As time goes by, I’m getting angrier and angrier, more and more desperate. Alexandre + Sónia Once upon a time, an angry woman wanted to buy an expensive car, but she didn’t have enough money and decided to do something different: instead of going to a car dealer, she tried eBay for her dream car. After a while, she found one for just… 50p! A Lotus Esprit Turbo??? Sure it was a mistake! But why not check it out? She didn’t have anything to lose, right? She did buy the car and the woman who was once angry became a very happy person because she had finally fulfilled her dream of driving a sports car, having her husband back and two children. Eliana + Leandro João was addicted to the Internet, particularly to eBay, and once he decided to try his luck and buy a car, but not just any car, a very expensive car! He searched and searched and came across a Lotus Esprit Turbo for just 50 pence. Can you believe his luck? He couldn’t! Well, he went on with the purchase, but when his mother found out about it, she became really angry. How could an underage boy buy such a thing with just a click???? It’s as easy as that, a click away… she finally came over it when the boy offered it to her as Mother’s Day gift. Bruno + Marco + Micael Alexandra Duarte
