WOMEN’S BASKETBALL ALUMNAE RETURN FOR BIG WIN OVER MARQUETTE A record-setting turnout for Women’s Basketball Alumnae Day set the tone for an electrifying day of Blue Demon Basketball on February 12.
VS. MARQUETTE FEBRUARY 6, ALLSTATE ARENA
The day started with nearly 50 alumnae and their guests, spanning four decades, gathering in the DePaul Student Center for a program reception. Alumnae had the opportunity to interact with Athletic Director Jean Lenti Ponsetto and listen to a pre-game chalk-talk delivered by Hall of Fame Coach Doug Bruno. “It was really great to see such support for the women’s basketball program from the players of all eras, in addition to a great crowd,” said Erin Cattell women’s basketball alumnae 20052009. “It was an exciting game that not only represented one of the greatest rivalries of college basketball, it was supporting a great cause for the Kay Yow Breast Cancer Foundation.”
FEBRUARY 12, - MCGRATH-PHILLIPS ARENA
Following the reception, alumnae headed to McGrath-Phillips Arena to support DePaul Women’s Basketball as they faced Marquette. In addition to the pre-game reception, the women’s basketball alumnae were recognized in a halftime presentation. Jean Lenti-Ponsetto greeted each alum on Doug Bruno Court in front of a sold-out McGrath-Phillips Arena crowd. VS. MARQUETTE
The women concluded the action-packed day with a 71-59 win over Marquette. The Blue Demons were led by junior guard Anna Martin, as she recorded her first double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. NOTES: Special thanks to all alumnae in attendance. Your continued support of the women’s basketball program and DePaul athletics is greatly appreciated. Please continue to help us in our efforts to build the women’s alumnae email database. If you know of a former player who does not receive email or mail correspondence in regards to DePaul Women’s Basketball, please have them contact Mario Stula at firstname.lastname@example.org.

MANY DREAMS. ONE MISSION. - THE CAMPAIGN FOR DEPAUL UNIVERSITY
The Many Dreams, One Mission Campaign for DePaul University is an historic initiative undertaken in support of one of America’s great universities. It will ensure that DePaul continues to deliver on our founding promise: an excellent education for any talented student who seeks it. The Campaign supports dreams. Students come to DePaul from across the country and around the world. Their dreams are manycand varied, individual to each, as our students come from all stations in life. Many are the first in their family to attend college. The realization of their dreams gives rise to new dreams and strong communities. The Campaign supports DePaul’s mission, a mission which blends opportunity and excellence, inquiry and discovery, service to the individual and benefit to the larger community. It is manifested in the work that goes on here every day, in libraries, classrooms, laboratories, practice rooms and on the stage in hours of solitude and moments of connection
ATHLETICS CAPITAL CAMPAIGN NEARS $9.5 MILLION MARK
Athletics provides an avenue of opportunity for students at DePaul. Athletics also helps build community and enhance DePaul’s reputation locally and nationally. As part of DePaul’s $250 million Many Dreams. One Mission. Campaign, Athletics is charged with raising $15.3 million. Strategically, goals have been set to raise the gifts to support scholarship endowment, facility improvements and programmatic support. As of January 24, DePaul Athletics had raised $9.3 million dollars.
INSURE OPPORTUNITY FOR TOMORROW, TODAY THROUGH SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENTS DePaul Athletics fundraising efforts have focused on endowing scholarship and programming needs. Annually athletics spends nearly $5 million on scholarship expenses for its more than 200 studentathletes.
