A note from Mr. Ellinger regarding teacher requests: I want to take this opportunity to explain the procedure I use in making classroom placements. I do not accept requests for a specific teacher because I cannot promise that your request can be honored. However, I accept letters requesting NOT to have a specific teacher. We have an excellent teaching staff and our students would flourish in anyone’s classroom. You may, however, have legitimate reasons for your request, therefore no explanation is required. I do ask that you only name ONE teacher. Letters with 2 or more names will be returned. Another option, which is extremely helpful to me in the placement process, is a letter from parents describing the strengths and weaknesses of your child. Letters must be in my office by Friday, April 29th. Requests received after that date will also be returned. With parent letters, student data, and information from this year’s teacher, I will hand place all students in their class assignments for next year. Please be aware that teachers may organize instruction that requires students to go to other classrooms/teachers for a part of their normal day. Working together, I know that we will be able to provide your child with the very best experience McKenneyHarrison has to offer. Reminder: A note is required when your child has a change in how they are to go home. Without this information, students will go to their regular location.
Please make sure to call the office before 8:30 AM each and every time your child will be absent or tardy. After office hours until 7:00 AM, messages may also be left on the answering machine at 920-1015.
