The act of capturing life is one that is found in many different media of art. These media often capture the many complexities and beauty of life; the irreversible moment in our past that we can only experience once. With this being said, photographing captures a moment of previsualization. Capturing a moment with a camera is fairly banal, but capturing a pre-visualized and emotion-evoking image can resonate within one’s soul. This resonance is what makes images timeless, immortal. This resonance is what ultimately leaves traces of our existence. Even posthumously, then, the photographed images would retain a contemporary essence. This essence is what accentuates the fact that “art imitates life.
