Stockport’s Giant Leap T

housands of frog hunters have been hopping into Stockport over the summer to follow the trail to seek out 19 frogs. But did you manage to discover their 3 friends – bonus frogs – who have sneaked onto the lily pads too! It’s been great to see so many businesses getting in on the frog act too. Stockport Gin have even produced a limited edition Frog gin to celebrate the Giant Leap.

This Little Guiding Frog of Mine (3)

Kirsty Brown I joined up with Girlguiding Stockport who wanted an artist for their frog who already had a connection with the organisation. ‘This Little Guiding Frog of Mine’ was chosen as the winning design and name and the girls feel a sense of pride in visiting “their” frog. BUSter (4)

Annette Cobley I was excited to be part of the Stockport giant leap project, celebrating Stockport’s unique character and combining its iconic elements of hats, the 192 bus and frogs! The brief was to celebrate a legend of Stockport and I chose the 192 bus, having spent many interesting journeys on this bus. I hope he makes my fellow Stopfordians smile. Sponsored by Stagecoach

Kate O’Brien As someone who paints scenes and architecture around Stockport for a living and I was really keen for my frog to showcase Market Place, this unique and stunning part of our town. I have loved being involved and continue to see many families on days out enjoying the trail. Sponsored by Stockport Council

Nexphibian (6)

Nick Lowndes I was asked by Nexperia to produce a design that would reflect their company as a

global leader in the production of semiconductor components. The use of circuit boards lends itself to my graphic style of illustration as does the bold colour palette. It’s rewarding to see all of the frogs displayed around Stockport and I feel proud to have been a part of the project. Sponsored by Nexperia
