CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS In the NAIT dormitory we were provided with dorm rooms that were not to the Alberta Code. We then had to highlight and make corrections on the building given to us and redraw the dorm to code. After changing the floor plans to code, we have been creating work drawings and details to create a work drawing package.
The ATB bank project was a project to test our skills, and our design abilities to develop a futuristic bank. When designing a futuristic bank, I wanted to incorporate a minimalist design. In the design process I chose the word ‘Unity’ to describe my bank and what I thought ATB meant to me. I used AutoCAD to develop the floor plan and then created a 3D model with Sketchup. After creating my 3D model, I created different interior and exterior views. Then using Photoshop and irender to render my model and enhance the look of my building to make it look more realistic and presentable. I then used Illustrator to develop the design boards to present to the judges.
REVIT PROJECTS Given to our class was floor plans that we were supposed to redraw in Revit. After doing so we modeled a Medical Centre. We learned how to create phases with Revit, and the demolition process. We also practiced creating furniture by model in place. After creating the model in Revit we used irender to render the exterior and interior views of the building and photoshop to enhance lighting and the skyline.
