FOURTH FLOOR

COMMUNITY ART STUDIO

FIFTH FLOOR

SIXTH FLOOR

THE ARTS BUILDING IN HAFENCITY CONTAINS A WIDE RANGE OF DIFFERENT ARTISTIC FUNCTIONS SUCH AS ART, DANCE AND MUSIC. THE FIRST LEVEL OF THE BUILDING CONTAINS COMMERCIAL FUNCTIONS FOR TOURISTS, PEOPLE OF THE CITY AND PEOPLE WITHIN THE BUILDING. THE UPPER LEVELS BECOME MORE PRIVATE AND PROVIDE ALL THE SPACES FOR THE DIFFERENT ARTISTIC FUNCTIONS. THERE ARE ENOUGH STUDIO SPACES THAT ALLOW EACH ARTISTIC TYPE (MUSIC, DANCE AND ART) TO HAVE THEIR ON SECTION OF THE THIRD AND FOURTH FLOOR. THE IDEA BEHIND THE ARTS BUILDING WAS TO PROVIDE DIFFERENT CULTURAL ASPECTS TO THE CITIZENS OF HAFENCITY AND TO THE TOURISTS. THIS BUILDING PROVIDES A PLACE FOR THE CITIZENS OF HAFENCITY TO PRACTICE THEIR UNIQUE TALENTS WHILE PERFORMING AND SHOWCASING THEM BACK TO THE CITY TO ENJOY.

MAJOR GOALS

THE ARTS BUILDING WILL BE A PLACE OF CULTURE AND PROVIDE A NATURAL ENVIRONMENT INSIDE AND OUT. THE BUILDING WILL PROVIDE THE CULTURE OF HAMBURG, GERMANY TO ALL THE VISITORS COMING THROUGH THE CITY AND VISITING FROM THE INCOMING CRUISES.

GREEN BENEFITS: THE AQUACELL S SERIES OFFERS NEGLIGIBLE RESIDUE, LOW ENERGY USAGE AND HIGH RECOVERY RATES. THESE FEATURES PROVIDE MAXIMUM CREDITS FOR GREEN OR ESD PROJECTS. THE AQUACELL BLACKWATER SYSTEM IS THE IDEAL OPTION FOR SUSTAINABLE BUILDINGS KEEN TO REDUCE OVERHEADS, RE-USE WATER AND MINIMIZE THEIR CARBON FOOTPRINT

ULTRAVIOLET DISINFECTION CHLORINE RESIDUAL PROTECTION

OVERFLOW TO SEWER GREY WATER SYSTEM: HOW IT WORKS: • WATER COLLECTION WATER FLOWS FROM THROUGHOUT THE PROPERTY TO A COLLECTION POINT WHERE IT IS PUMPED INTO THE AQUACELL SYSTEM. THIS IS WHERE THE TREATMENT PROCESS STARTS • AEROBIC SCREENING THIS ODOR FREE PROCESS IS UNIQUE TO AQUACELL. IT EFFICIENTLY REDUCES INSOLUBLE MATERIAL TO A NEGLIGIBLE RESIDUE. THIS RESIDUE IS USUALLY DISCHARGED INTO THE SEWER AND THE REMAINING GREYWATER FLOWS ON FOR FURTHER TREATMENT • BIOLOGICAL TREATMENT AIR IS DIFFUSED INTO THE GREYWATER TO MAKE IDEAL CONDITIONS FOR BACTERIA TO CONSUME IMPURITIES IN THE WATER. A SUSTAINABLE BIOMASS CONCENTRATION IS MAINTAINED AND METABOLIZES ALL INCOMING WASTE, RESULTING IN NEGLIGIBLE SLUDGE. OF THE INCOMING WATER, 99.9% IS REUSED • ULTRAFILTRATION ULTRAFILTRATION HAPPENS THROUGH A SPECIAL MEMBRANE OF MICROSCOPIC PORES THAT STOP PARTICLES, BACTERIA AND VIRUSES FROM PASSING THROUGH. THE MEMBRANES ARE CLEANED BY AIR SCOURING TO MAKE SURE NO WASTEWATER IS PRODUCED • ULTRAVIOLET DISINFECTION AS A PRECAUTION, ULTRAVIOLET LAMPS ARE INCLUDED IN ALL AQUACELL GREYWATER SYSTEMS TO UP THE PROTECTION AGAINST PATHOGENS • CHLORINATION A CHLORINE RESIDUAL IS ADDED TO HELP PROTECT THE WATER WHILE IN STORAGE AND IN THE RETICULATION SYSTEM. THIS IS THE ONLY TIME ANY CHEMICALS ARE USED IN THE TREATMENT PROCESS • TREATED WATER STORAGE THE RESULT IS SAFE WATER, KEPT IN STORAGE FOR IMMEDIATE USE ACROSS ANY NON-POTABLE WATER NEEDS; INCLUDING SURFACE IRRIGATION, TOILET FLUSHING AND WASHING MACHINES

AQUACELL

HOW IT WORKS: • WATER COLLECTION WATER FLOWS FROM THROUGHOUT THE PROPERTY TO A COLLECTION POINT WHERE IT IS PUMPED INTO THE AQUACELL SYSTEM. THIS IS WHERE THE TREATMENT PROCESS STARTS • AEROBIC SCREENING THIS PROCESS REDUCES INSOLUBLE MATERIAL TO A NEGLIGIBLE RESIDUE. THIS RESIDUE IS EITHER DISCHARGED TO THE SEWER OR DE-WATERED AND COMPACTED FOR DISPOSAL AS SOLID WASTE • BIOLOGICAL TREATMENT AIR IS DIFFUSED INTO THE WATER TO MAKE IDEAL CONDITIONS FOR BACTERIA TO CONSUME IMPURITIES. A SUSTAINABLE BIOMASS CONCENTRATION IS MAINTAINED, WHICH METABOLIZES ALL THE INCOMING WASTE. THIS MEANS THERE'S NEGLIGIBLE SLUDGE AND 99.9% INCOMING WATER IS RE-USED • ULTRAFILTRATION ULTRAFILTRATION OCCURS THROUGH A SPECIAL MEMBRANE OF MICROSCOPIC PORES THAT STOP PARTICLES, BACTERIA AND VIRUSES FROM PASSING THROUGH. THE MEMBRANES ARE CLEANED BY AIR SCOURING TO MAKE SURE NO WASTEWATER IS PRODUCED • ULTRAVIOLET DISINFECTION AS A PRECAUTION, ULTRAVIOLET LAMPS ARE INCLUDED IN ALL AQUACELL BLACKWATER SYSTEMS TO UP THE PROTECTION AGAINST PATHOGENS • TDS AND NUTRIENT REMOVAL THESE AQUACELL TECHNOLOGIES ARE EMPLOYED FOR THINGS LIKE COOLING TOWERS RE-USE AND DISCHARGE TO SENSITIVE ENVIRONMENTS • CHLORINATION A CHLORINE RESIDUAL IS ADDED TO PROTECT THE WATER WHILE IN STORAGE AND THE RETICULATION SYSTEM. THIS IS THE ONLY TIME ANY CHEMICALS ARE USED IN THE TREATMENT PROCESS • TREATED WATER STORAGE THE RESULT WATER IS SAFE WATER, KEPT IN STORAGE FOR IMMEDIATE USE FOR NON-POTABLE APPLICATIONS, INCLUDING SURFACE IRRIGATION, TOILET FLUSHING AND COOLING TOWERS

GREEN BENEFITS: THE AQUACELL G SERIES OFFERS HIGH RECOVERY RATES WITH NO BACKWASHING, NEGLIGIBLE RESIDUE AND LOW ENERGY USAGE. THESE FEATURES PROVIDE MAXIMUM CREDITS FOR GREEN STAR OR ESD PROJECTS. AQUACELL IS THE IDEAL OPTION FOR SUSTAINABLE BUILDINGS KEEN TO REDUCE OVERHEADS, REUSE WATER AND MINIMIZE THEIR CARBON FOOTPRINT

HYDROPONIC SYSTEM BLACKWATER

GREYWATER

IMMOBILIZATION OCCURS IN THE FORM OF HYDRAULIC CONTROL, WHERE PLANTS WITH HIGH LEVELS OF WATER UPTAKE ARE USED TO INFLUENCE THE MOVEMENT OF GROUND AND SOIL WATER. THE PLANTS ACT AS NATURAL HYDRAULIC PUMPS, PULLING WATER TOWARD THE SURFACE. HYDRAULIC CONTROL IS TYPICALLY USED TO DECREASE THE MIGRATION OF CONTAMINANTS FROM SURFACE WATER INTO THE GROUNDWATER AND DRINKING SUPPLIES.

AEROBIC SCREENING BIOLOGICAL TREATMENT

AQUACELL UNIT

RHIZOFILTRATION IS PRIMARILY USED IN THE TREATMENT OF WATER POLLUTANTS AND IS TYPICALLY UTILIZED IN A GREENHOUSE CONDITION WITH PLANTS GROWING IN HYDROPONIC SYSTEMS. CONTAMINATED WATER IS PUMPED TO IRRIGATION TANKS BENEATH THE PLANTS. THE PLANTS TRAP AND ACCUMULATE THE CONTAMINANTS WITHIN THEIR ROOT ZONES. AS THE ROOTS BECOME SATURATED WITH CONTAMINANTS, THEY CAN BE HARVESTED FOR DISPOSAL
