It’s showtime!

STUDENTS at Queen Mary’s College present two shows next week, with Table and Footsteps being staged at Central Studio on Wednesday and Thursday. Table features the stories of 23 characters and one very special piece of furniture, while Footsteps has a mixture of choreography pieces ranging from ballet to jazz. John Pilkington WRITER and broadcaster John Pilkington tells tales of his Balkan adventure, in a talk at Kingsclere Village Club next Thursday. John recently spent five months travelling from Trieste to Istanbul, and returns to Kingsclere to discuss travel in strange places, illustrated by his high quality photography. Doors open at 7.15pm.

Praise of Love

THE moving story of Lydia, who shields her husband Sebastian from the knowledge that she is dying of leukaemia, is performed at The Haymarket next Tuesday and Wednesday. In Praise of Love is based on the true-life situation of Rex Harrison and his wife Kay Kendall, who died in 1959 in similar circumstances. Three little pigs SATURDAY afternoon sees an innovative re-telling of the classic children’s story Three Little Pigs, taking place at the Bordon Phoenix. Storyteller Danny has to try against the odds to enact the tale, but is missing some props, and has to improvise with his physical comedy and circus skills.
