Family fundraising for air KICK-START heroes after fatal collision YOUR CAREER By Samantha McGregor
A FAMILY are hoping to raise thousands to thank the air ambulance for its help after a horrific crash. Michael Parslow, known as Mik, from Bicester, was driving his grey Toyota MR2 when he collided with a silver Ford van on the A4095 near Radcot Bridge, Bampton, on August 10. Immediately after the collision the 45-year-old was airlifted to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital by Thames Valley Air Ambulance where he was put on a life support machine. Sadly, tests showed his brain had suffered too much damage and his father Eric and sister Lynda made the devastating decision a week later to turn the life support machine off. In their darkest hour the family also agreed for his organs to be donated to help other people. Mik’s family have paid tribute to “a one off, unique character” who had a passion for Toyota MR2 cars. Lynda said: “He was a kind, loyal friend to many and members of many car clubs with his extreme knowledge of the cars which he loved so much. “We felt it important to try to help any others through organ donation. We believe up to three people will have benefited from this and part of Mik still lives on helping others live too.” So far, they have raised more than £950 in memory of the former Bicester Community College pupil, who worked
