JOE LEWIS Founder & Chairman

Joe Lewis is well known as a successful private investor, currency trader and noted art collector. He is routinely ranked in the Forbes 400, The Sunday Times Rich List and ArtNews magazine’s rankings of the world’s most accomplished. Lesser known, Joe has also quietly built an expansive portfolio of companies around the world over the last four decades. He has backed people, ideas and companies by providing a unique combination of • capital, strategic leadership and a passion for results which has enabled Joe and his investments to achieve significant business success in a wide range of sectors. Joe is an entrepreneur and well-documented builder of businesses. •

Tavistock Group, a 35-year-old investment organization founded by Joe, has investments in more than 200 companies worldwide in a variety of industries including Sports & Media, Restaurants, Life Sciences, Finance, Energy, Consumer Products and Retail as well as Real Estate that includes Resort Properties and Private Clubs.

Joe is actively involved in all of his investments and businesses. A team of 18 CEOs work directly with him and manage his companies and investments, and all of these executives have worked with him for many years (averaging

10+ years). Joe’s investment success has been predicated by his ability to improve the operational and financial performance of the companies he has backed to create significant additional value. Joe has built a reputation as a savvy investor and operator who has disdain for bureaucracy, waste and poor customer service levels. Joe is also credited with being the visionary force behind the Lake Nona ‘Medical City’ development in Orlando, Florida. The 7,000-acre master planned development, which includes a new medical school, two new hospitals and three renowned bio life science research centers, came to fruition over the last six years in part through Joe’s real estate development company and charitable foundation. Over the last 36 months, 4,000 jobs and more than $2 billion of active construction have resulted from this effort at Lake Nona. Overall development has been cited to spur more than $6 billion in annual economic activity for the state of Florida as it creates 30,000 jobs over the next decade. The community recently hosted its first Lake Nona Impact Forum gathering of 250 leaders from all business segments and sectors, committed to collaborating within Lake Nona to provide innovative education and healthcare solutions

John Chambers, Cisco’s CEO, just awarded Lake Nona his company’s highest honor, Iconic Cisco Smart+Connected Community. Lake Nona joins the ranks of eight other cities, including London, Barcelona and Toronto, and is now positioned to receive significant technology investment and experimentation from Cisco with the aim to make Lake Nona a premier destination to work, live, educate and play. When a major USA newspaper named Joe ‘Man of the Year’ for his contributions toward the creation of Lake Nona Medical City, citing “… Florida is lucky to have Joe Lewis,” former Florida Governor Jeb Bush acknowledged that in the state and communities where Joe has business interests, they have “… benefited greatly from this international business leader.” Joe has a passion for the hospitality and leisure industries and has had investments in many sporting organizations including Glasgow Rangers, AEK Athens, Slavia Prague, FC Basel, Vicenza, and Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. Joe and his partner Daniel Levy are behind the historic and resurgent top London team of Tottenham Hotspur. The club is currently planning

and designing a new 60,000-seat stadium facility to support Tottenham Hotspur, which will in turn bring about significant gentrification and urban renewal to the surrounding area in East London. This development comes on the heels of the team’s recent completion of a 77-acre team training, practice and support compound which has garnered accolades for its state-of-the-art design and world-class facilities. •

Since the early 1980s, Joe has also been a financial backer of numerous restaurant and hospitality businesses in Central Florida, the Caribbean and South America. Joe has long provided capital and an experienced hand to talented entrepreneurs who have benefited from his involvement and support.

In 2003, Joe established Tavistock Restaurant Group (“TRG”), which is committed to building long-term value across a broad range of restaurant investments through the acquisition of new concepts and the expansion of existing concepts.

Since its inception, TRG has achieved EBITDA growth of 833%, unit growth of 550%, and employee growth of 546% and it has expanded to 16 concepts serving customers across the spectrum from fast casual to upscale. The


Group’s Freebirds World Burrito is one of the fastest growing fast casual concepts in the US and its flagship Abe & Louie’s chophouse is Boston’s #1 restaurant (sales) and a perennial market favorite. •

Tavistock Restaurant Group serves 1.5 million guests per month and delivering more than 18 million meals per year.

Joe is also the biggest shareholder of Mitchells & Butlers plc, the UK’s largest restaurant company with 1,700 pubs and restaurants serving more than 450 millions drinks per year and more than 180 million meals.

In addition, Joe also owns and operates the award-winning luxury St. Regis Hotel and Residences in Atlanta, Georgia and three extraordinary residential resort communities, Isleworth Golf & Country Club and Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando, Florida and Albany Golf & Beach Club in The Bahamas on New Providence Island, just south of Lyford Cay.

Ever the sportsman, Joe has allowed his colleagues to stage the annual Tavistock Cup golf tournament – known as the World Golf & Country Club Championship – each March for the last nine years. Bringing together the very best in the game, this invitation-only, PGA TOUR-sanctioned event, which is broadcast in 100 countries and has yielded millions of dollars for select charities like The First Tee and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. The 2013 Tavistock Cup will feature the best touring professionals who are members of Isleworth, Lake Nona, Albany, Oak Tree, Primland and Queenwood in the UK.

Joe has long invested in energy and today is the driving force behind BayCorp and Pampa Energia in South America. The Group has also long been a backer of American Renewables.

The Lewis Collection is recognized as one of the top art collections in the world and is known for its numerous works by Lucian Freud, Francis Bacon, Andrew Wyth and Pablo Picasso.

DANIEL LEVY Managing Director

Daniel Levy is the Executive Chairman of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, a leading top-flight club in the English Premier League, and has overseen the running of the Club for 12 years, making him one of the longest-serving chairmen in the Premier League. With over 160 million fans worldwide, the Club attracts a television audience in excess of 4 billion for its matches across 217 territories globally and currently enjoys its share of newly negotiated television rights which rise to ÂŁ5 billion for the next three seasons. In addition, Daniel has been instrumental in attracting key corporate partners to the Club through multi-million pound sponsorship deals with companies including Thomson, HP, Investec and Under Armour. Additionally, Daniel is actively involved in promoting governing issues related to the Premier League, most recently advocating enhanced financial controls for all owners to ensure the long-term financial stability of clubs. He was also responsible for successfully lobbying for a rule change regarding the number of substitutions permitted, which has now been adopted across the League and serves to encourage the progress and inclusion of young players. Earlier this year, the Club moved to its new training base set on 77 acres of greenbelt land. Widely acclaimed as the best facility of its kind in the world, Daniel directed the planning and construction of the facility for the past seven years and is now focusing

his time and energies on a new increased capacity, iconic stadium for the Club which will kick-start the regeneration of a priority London borough and be a new landmark in the capital city. It was Daniel’s inspiration, vision and determination to create the best and most far-reaching charitable football-in-the-community program in Europe. Today, the Club houses the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation which employs over 200 staff and volunteers and delivers community programs in the most needed areas in the fields of crime diversion, educational attainment, social cohesion and health. The Foundation works across four London boroughs and has delivered 1.7 million sporting opportunities in just three years through award-winning projects. It is directly responsible for changing lives of local people and those it assists in other territories around the world, and serves as a major delivery partner for Special Olympics. Daniel has been a partner with Joe Lewis for nearly 30 years and has a wealth of experience in corporate finance and retail management, having set up and run businesses in the fashion, footwear and food sectors and operated in Europe, the Far East and United States. He graduated from Cambridge University in 1985 with a First Class Honours Degree in Economics and Land Economy. Daniel is 50 years old and married with four children.

DOUGLAS McMAHON Managing Director

Doug has been a Senior Managing Director of private investment organization Tavistock Group since 2003. The Group has a wide portfolio of investments across fifteen countries with concentration in real estate, luxury resorts and communities, hospitality, restaurants, sports, energy, life sciences and consumer businesses. Doug is a member of the board of directors for Tavistock Group and sits on the firm’s investment and operations committees. With broad responsibilities in the firm, Doug focuses on actively building value and expanding revenues across many of the firm’s core investments. He is the managing partner of The St. Regis Atlanta Hotel & Residences (SRA LLC), chief marketing and sales officer for the Group’s luxury resorts of Albany (Bahamas) and Harmony Cove (Jamaica), and was instrumental in the establishment of the Tavistock Cup and Isleworth Collegiate golf tournaments which are entering their tenth year. He is also a non-executive director of Mitchells & Butlers plc, the largest UK-based restaurant and pub operator in the world with 1,700 establishments.

Prior to joining Tavistock Group, Doug was chairman and chief executive officer of Publicis New York where he expanded the size and recognition of the headquarter operation, working with BMW, L’Oreal, Fujifilm, Universal, Siemens and Club Med, garnering a wide array of industry awards including a Gold at Cannes and numerous EFFIEs. Earlier in New York City, as the youngest executive vice president and general manager in the history of global advertising firm J. Walter Thompson, Doug helped guide the communication efforts of Merrill Lynch, Schick, Diageo, Kodak, Warner-Lambert, Bermuda (DT) and Unilever. While working at General Electric, Doug served as chief marketing officer at NBC/Universal’s CNBC business news unit where he led them to become the number one daytime cable news channel in the world. Doug graduated from Georgetown University (BSBA) and presently lives in Orlando, Florida with his wife, Molly and their four children. He is active in the community having served on the boards of Orlando Museum of Art and Grace Medical Home.
