Boulangerie La Vendeenne produces traditional French pastries and a variety of certified organic artisanal breads.
According to local folklore, Boxing Rock is where bickering seamen were left by their captain to sort out their differences. The choice: box until only one could return to the ship, or shake hands and share a beer. Either way, there are only a few short hours until high tide. We say drink up!
Baguettes and sourdough breads, including rye, spelt, seven-grain, apricothoney, raisin-apple, and more, are available year-round at Halifax Seaport Farmers’ Market, Halifax Brewery Market, Dartmouth Alderney Landing, and the Wolfville and Lunenburg Farmers’ Markets. Breads are sold at Pete’s Fine Foods in Halifax and Bedford, Super Natural Foods, Organic Earth Market, Mariposa, Shop on the Corner, and more. Seasonally, our breads and pastries are sold at farmers’ markets in Blockhouse, Bridgewater, Chester, Hubbards, and Annapolis Royal.
Boxing Rock has been brewing our legendary Nova Scotia Craft Beer on the South Shore since 2013. Visit us to enjoy samples of our beer in our hospitality room - try our award winning Vicar’s Cross Double IPA, our Hunky Dory Pale Ale, Temptation Red Ale, Crafty Jack English Ale, or one of our many seasonal brews. Shop in our retail store, enjoy beer samples on our outdoor deck - in the summer - or even stay for a brewery tour (weekends only, by appointment).
