Same Disciple Making DNA, new locations, teams and ideas… It is not a new concept that Tandem came up with to "make disciples everywhere". This was Jesus last words to his disciples 2000 years ago "be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth" and "go therefore and make disciples of all nations" (Acts 1:8 + Matt 28:19). He gave us this mission, and with the power of the Holy Spirit, we see the global results today. Tandems mission is still the same "to make disciples everywhere" and I’m really excited about the new places we are trusting God to work in for 2014. We are launching a new athletes (page 2) outreach on campus, helping partner with CViC (page 2) to train churches in reaching their communities for Christ and in this ever changing digital world, we are thinking through ways to achieve Jesus' mission using digital media and the Internet. Thank you for your partnership in helping Tandem Ministries make disciples. Click here to check out helpful ideas on our Facebook page. - Justin O’Malley

“A gathering of people we would like to clone!” The Bright Spots Summit held by CViC in October 2013 was a weekend workshop for anyone caring about making space for faith in their community and gathered 50 quality practitioners nation-wide. The keynote speaker, Nigel Dixon shared provocative insights on what needs to change in the way we do church and the inspiring stories told by these authentic Christians living out their faith and seeing folk saved were incredibly encouraging. The World Café time gave space to deal with big questions through dialogue rather than a one-way speaker, and the graduation of their first Community Links was a fitting closure to CViC’s first two-year cycle of training. - Howard Webb

Marriage Retreat for Recently Married Tandem Staff The vision for this retreat was to help strengthen one of the key foundations in the lives of our Tandem staff - their marriages. A great DVD series from FamilyLife, 'The Art of Marriage' was used as a starting point for discussion, with a lot of learning, laughter and prayer throughout the time together. - Mike Ripley "This helped us to focus on our marriage. The encouragement and motivation from others was just what we needed." - Participant “The need and ultimate purpose of honouring the Lord and cherishing my wife was so clear.” - Participant

Helping athletes take their passion, faith and sport to new places While Athletes in Action itself isn’t new, it is certainly getting a facelift this year! Long time Athletes in Action staff member Timo Tagaloa will be joined by Kelsey Donald, Jono Donald, and their fearless leader Matt Coyle. The four of them really have a heart to see athletes on the university campus reached for Christ, developed in their faith, and sent out using their platform in sport to reach others. Athletes face unique issues and their hope is that the Lord will use them to meet those particular needs in the athletic community. - Kelsey Donald
