The costs are high, but so are their spirits, enthusiasm and belief that the CHX crew dancers will get the opportunity of a lifetime. They will need all the help they can get, due to high travelling and accommodation costs. Any assistance the team can get in the form of donations or sponsorships will help these dancers make their dreams become a reality. A fundraising Colour run and fun day was held at Rietvlei Zoo Farm to raise funds for the team. There was a great turn out. Further donations

to the team will be appreciated. Let the community pull together to send these amazing hip hop dancers to Arizona. Contact: Wesley Grainger on 082 762 4768 or Dion van der Merwe on 083 704 8979 for information on the Dance to Arizona Colour Run & Family Fun day, or Facebook Event page, or: www.quicket.co.za. The dancers are extremely honoured and excited to do SA and the South of Johannesburg proud at this prestigious event.

Mrs South Africa Finalists make a difference

Making a difference Joy dogs entertain learners in Glenanda in the community

On Friday afternoon, 8 June, finalists of Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa visited the Alberton SPCA to promote recycling awareness. As part of a community project, Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa pageant has collaborated with Mpact, a leading paper recycler, to support fund-raising initiatives and increase recycling volumes. tame TIMES understands that the mission for the community project is to generate 10 tonnes of recycling per community for the community to

benefit financially; as Mpact Recycling pays the community for their recycling. The 4 semi-finalists organized the recycling goods at the Alberton SPCA and generated 8 tonnes of paper. The funds generated from the recycling will go to the Alberton SPCA which is their chosen charity. tame TIMES would like to encourage the community to get involved and support our semi-finalists in this pageant.

A fun, entertaining and informative show was given to the learners from Clever Kids Preschool in Glenanda. They loved seeing the dogs performing all their tricks, touching them and posing with them. They were also given some basic instruction on how to care of their dogs. JOY Dogs are Old English Sheepdogs, also known for their work with a paint company. JOY Dog, Oscar, is currently appearing in the Dulux advert on TV. In news that just broke, a new puppy is about to join the JOY Dogs – his name is Orion and he comes from Russia. He is from the litter of JOY Dog Yola’s niece. It has been a difficult and expensive import and we are happy to say all is going well. He is currently spending a week in quarantine and will be home with Sue, Jazmine, Oscar and Yola on Friday, 15 June.

On Sunday, 10 June 2018 Sasolsponsored Banyana Banyana qualified for the CAF Women Nations Cup finals scheduled to be played in Ghana in November this year after walloping hapless Lesotho 6-0 at Dr Petrus Molemela stadium in Bloemfontein on Sunday 0 for a 7-0 aggregate victory. The pride of the nation’s goals came from a double each by Jermaine Seoposenwe and Chantelle Esau with a goal each from Hilda Magaia and Leandra Smeda. True to coach Desiree Ellis’ prediction, the girls were full value of their emphatic win as they ran riot in front of a good crowd. The win keeps Ellis and her charges on track to reach the Women FIFA World Cup in France next year. Leding 1-0 from the first leg, Banyana

Banyana were out of the blocks early & Chantelle Esau could have doubled that advantage but put her effort wide. But moments later Jermaine Seoposenwe doubled the hosts advantage when she outsprinted the Lesotho defence and buried a good angled shot. That was the goal Banyana Banyana needed and 2 minutes later made it a 3-0 aggregate advantage when Chantelle made no mistake from inside the box. Thereafter, it was one-way traffic as Desiree Ellis charges threatened to run riot. Kgaelebane Mohlakoane had a good game on the right flank and twice came close to scoring in the opening 15 minutes. With Lesotho looking shell-shocked, the hosts played with conviction and flamboyance which has become the hallmark of their performances under Ellis.

Leandra Smeda then came face to face with Lesotho keeper but her effort was well saved in the 28th minute. Easu missed another golden opportunity when she sent her effort wide in the 35th minute as the rare heat at this time of the year started to take its toll. Soon after half time, captain Refiloe Jane miscued her shot when she was put clear. Essau made it 3-0 on the day with a good finish moments after the restart. Seoposenwe also completed her brace when she made no mistake from just inside the box in the 59th minute to make it 4-0 on the day and 5-0 on aggregate. Hilda Magaia made it 5-0 in the 77th minute as Banyana Banyana kept their foot on the pedal. Leandra Smeda completed the romp and made it 6-0 with a simple header following a pass
