TAMARACK – HERITAGE EXPANSION
Tamarack recently acquired approximately 500 acres to our south, known as: Heritage. The acquisition of Heritage expands Tamarack’s real estate development holdings by approximately 800 acres—it connects to 300 acres Tamarack acquired back in 2019. Future development will feature a mix of residential units that blend seamlessly with the surrounding natural beauty. The newly acquired land lies just below Tamarack’s proposed mountain expansion, offering future direct access to the slopes. Tamarack intends to develop approximately 700 additional residential units in this area including many that will have coveted ski-in/ski-out access. With this acquisition, we remain focused on updating Tamarack’s master development plan which includes Heritage, along with other areas within the Tamarack community.

Mid-Mountain Lodge
The highly anticipated 12,000-square-foot Mid-Mountain Lodge, located at the top of the Tamarack Express, will open this December. Featuring a 7,000-square-foot deck with panoramic views of The Village, the West Central Mountains, and Lake Cascade, the lodge will serve as a dining venue and event center, including a private wing for members of The Club at Tamarack.

Across the Resort, we can’t wait for you to experience the elevated and updated menus, thanks to our new Executive Chef, Steven Topple. With over 30 years of culinary experience, he honed his skills at the mountain resorts of Vail and Beaver Creek in Colorado before bringing his talents to Valley County, where he operates Ragazza Di Bufalo and Casa Rosa.

Mountain
We’ve spent months clearing brush, limbing up trees, and mastication across the mountain, which will lead to better early and late-season conditions, improved tree-skiing, and more ski-in/ski-out access for our lodging guests. Six new runs—five ‘Green’ and one ‘Blue’—have been cut on the mountain, bringing the total to 56 ski runs. In the meadow, we’ve added nearly three more miles of trails, increasing our network to 21 miles suitable for Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, and fat biking. Guests can rent ski and snowboard equipment at Tamarack Outfitters, in The Village. Guests can rent snowshoes, fat tire bikes, and cross-country equipment at the Nordic Center, in The Lodge. Tentative Open Date: Friday, December 6th weather permitting.
Sports School
For those looking to enhance their skills, Tamarack’s Sports School is unveiling several new programs, including Snow Bike, Nordic, and Olympian Ski Clinics led by Director Erik Fisher, a former U.S. Ski Team member and Olympian.
Basecamp (Daycare and Activity Center for Kids)
We’re thrilled to introduce a new family-friendly amenity, Basecamp—a daycare and activity center for kids up to age 12—located near the snowfront. Open daily with extended “Après Hours” on weekends, Basecamp features outdoor activities like Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, and sledding, encouraging teamwork and outdoor fun. In partnership with the Sports School, Basecamp offers options for kids to join ski or snowboard lessons and return as needed.

Tamarack Resort announced it has acquired more than 500 acres of prime development land contiguous to the resort. The acquisition of the land expands Tamarack’s land real estate development holdings by approximately 800 acres, as it connects to 300 acres Tamarack has acquired since 2019, which were previously noncontiguous.

The acquisition comes on the heels of Tamarack being ranked #26 in Condè Nast’s Top 30 Ski Resorts in the U.S., the grand opening of its Robert Trent Jones II-designed Championship golf course, and Tamarack’s new flagship Mid-Mountain Lodge, a 12,000 square foot state-of-the-art on-mountain lodge that will open in December 2024. Positioned at the top of the Tamarack Express at mid mountain, the lodge will serve as a dining venue and event center, and includes a private wing for members of The Club at Tamarack.

Scot has extensive experience in hospitality sales, marketing, and management. Over the past few years, his work has taken him all over the country, collaborating with some of the legends in the industry. He was even recognized as Time Magazine’s Person of the Year in 2006, through his association with TREE, LLC (Tessa Raen Ries Eastman). We are thrilled to have Scot at Tamarack, overseeing all of our Groups and Events needs. Not only is Scot a natural leader, but he also truly understands people. “I am a student of human behavior,” he says. “At this stage of my life, I am passionate about helping as many people as possible realize their full potential.”

SCOT: Haha, dare to be different, right? Actually, you’d have to ask my parents about that—I was too young to have a say in my name.
Q: WELL, WE’RE CERTAINLY GLAD YOU ARE TAMARACK. WHEN DID YOU DISCOVER THIS AREA?
SCOT: We’ve been in Idaho for about 15 years, starting in Boise. One of the first things people told us was to check out McCall and the mountains, so we did. That’s when I realized we’d moved about 90 miles short of where I really wanted to be: the mountains.
Q: WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST EXPERIENCE AT TAMARACK?
SCOT: It was years ago. We came up as a family to ski and spent some holidays here. I liked it right away and always kept it in the back of my mind—it was kind of a dream job for me.
Q: YOU STARTED JUST THIS YEAR. HOW DID THAT COME ABOUT?
SCOT: When the position opened this spring [2024], it felt like a “now or never” moment. After meeting with the leadership team and understanding their vision, I knew I had to be part of it.

My favorite view point is at the top of Wildwood Bowl, before you drop in on a bluebird powder day always take a moment to appreciate the lake and mountain views.

Sliding down the mountain on my skis, snowboard, or powsurfer.

I would buy real estate in the southern hemisphere, so I could live the endless winter life.

Spending time with my family, and teaching my son how to ski and snowboard.

Be true to yourself, follow your dreams and don’t let others tell you what you can or can’t accomplish.

I’m currently reading “CUES” by Vanessa Van Edwards. I would definitely recommend it.
