WHO WE ARE: From the distinctive and vibrant entrance signs which welcome residents and visitors alike, to our amazing array of programs and services that offer something for everyone, young and old, it’s easy to see why we say Tamarac is... Originally founded as an active retirement community by developer Kenneth E. Since the early 1980’s the Tamarac Turkey Trot has attracted runners of all skill levels to its certified race course which starts at 77th Street and N.W. 88th Avenue, winds through the Woodmont community and ends at Tamarac City Hall. Participants are treated with complimentary fruit, snacks, refreshments, and massages, and the event ends with an awards ceremony presented in all age categories from under 10 through 80 and over. Awards are given to the top three runners in each age group and to the top three overall. This is a great opportunity for your company or organization to support a great event and get a tremendous amount of exposure— averaging over 1,500 runners annually, over a 1,000 spectators, and media exposure... this is a Tamarac signature event!
