1. Research activity: y aimed at defining a new interpretation of the concept of quality of urban life based on capability approach theory (Sen, Nussbaum), useful for designing and assessing urban renewal policies and projects at local, community level.

2. "Micro" Micro projects and policies: policies aimed at promoting quality of urban life of disadvantaged inhabitants (especially children), with the support of municipalities, and through citizens citizens' engagement processes, processes often in collaboration with primary schools. They are defined as "micro" because they are low cost and focused on the "everyday city", the city the inhabitants daily "use" use , know, know and care care.

How we do what we do Our “nuts and bolts

Colour: colouring everyday spaces means making everything that was previously ordinary, extraordinary, and rememembering each day that changes are possible

Play: play is an effective instrument for involving in a playful manner people who otherwise may be difficult to reach and involve (i.e. children); it makes easier to deal with problems and conflicts that usually arise in disadvantaged neighbourhood; It could be an extraordinary peaceful form of assertion of certain denied urban rights

How we do what we do Our “nuts and bolts

Self-building: self- buildingg is a "savingg strategy gy because it allows to achieve relevant results also with low budget. At the same time, self-building encourages eco-friendly solutions and people's participation.

Storytelling: storytelling is accessible to all ages and abilities: it is an extraordinary instrument for communicating requirements, contents, and goals of TamalacĂ 's micro projects and policies.
