DELIVERY OUTLOOK TO GO POSTAL STARTING SATURDAY
Beginning Saturday, those Outlook readers who have home delivery will be able to find their newspapers in their mailboxes, not thrown on their driveway. After two years of consideration, the Outlook will begin partnering with the United States Postal Service for delivery of the newspaper. That means that the newspaper will be delivered with your mail each day. The change may result in a slight change in the time that your paper arrives, but using postal carriers and their unmatched dependability should mean that you will find the service to be consistent and reliable. “I do recognize that for many this change will lead to a different time of delivery and my hope is that it is nothing more than a temporary, minor inconvenience,” Tallapoosa Publishers Publisher and President Steve Baker said. “I apologize for any inconvenience you may incur. Our newsstand newspapers will continue to be distributed at the usual time. “If there are any question you may have of me, feel free to stop by or give me a call at 256-2344281.”
HOMECOMING Today is the culmination of Homecoming celebrations at Benjamin Russell and Horseshoe Bend. The parade will proceed straight down Calhoun, turn left at Carlisle Drugs, go through the circle and down Church Street, ending at the high school. At Horseshoe Bend the parade will begin 1:30 p.m.

The Tallapoosa County Commissioners voted 4-0 Thursday morning to approve a $14.4 million FY 2017 budget, that holds a tight line on spending. County Administrator Blake Beck presented the budget to the commissioners and said that there was a 1 percent increase in revenue and he thanked elected officials and department heads for doing their part by submitting requests that allowed for the budget to remain workable. “We were able to put it together in an effective and efficient manner and were able to do it without the drastic cuts that
An analysis of data released recently by the Census Bureau shows increases in real median household income, a decreasing number of people in poverty and a decline in the number of uninsured – both nationally and in Alabama, according to a Thursday release from The White House. Jason Furman, chairman of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, said on a conference call to announce the findings the new census numbers are “far and away the best report I’ve seen.” Furman added that “every measure of consumer confidence has gotten better in
