Catrin Finch and Cimarrón Back in 2007, Welsh harpist Catrin Finch met with Colombian joropo band Cimarrón and embarked on an exhilarating tour of Wales, a collaboration repeated in 2009 and 2010. Ten years later, Catrin and Cimarrón meet again. Cimarrón make wild, untamed music that preserves the spirit of freedom found in one of the world’s most untouched regions. Fast paced and powerful, it is music, with impetuous singing, amazing stomp dancing and fierce instrumental virtuosity of strings and percussion. A rare chance to witness a thrilling global collaboration. Yn ôl yn 2007, cyfarfu’r delynores Gymreig Catrin Finch â Cimarrón y band joropo o Golombia a chychwyn ar daith gyffrous o Gymru, cydweithrediad a ailadroddwyd yn 2009 a 2010. Kamao Quartet London-based Kamao Quartet is a chamber jazz group with a contemporary approach to American jazz, from the swing/bebop era to Django Reinhardt legacy. Kamao means “I like/I love/I want” in Romani. Characterised by the electric guitar of band leader Jean de Talhouët, with the rhythm guitar of Dave Kelbie, the clarinet/tenor saxophone of Dave Shulman, and backed up by double bassist Ruth Goller, this is a fresh take on Gypsy jazz. Grŵp jazz siambr o Lundain sy’n rhoi stamp cyfoes ar jazz Americanaidd, o’r oes swing/bebop i ddylanwad Django Reinhardt yw’r Kamao Quartet. The Slightly Annoying Elephant What’s big, blue, bossy, and turns up uninvited? A slightly annoying elephant, of course! One day Sam gets a very big surprise as a tired, hungry, antique-loving, cycling enthusiast elephant turns up on his doorstep. Adopting an elephant at the zoo turned out to be a lot more than he bargained for as he didn’t realise the elephant would actually come to live with him – silly boy! This play is based on the original book The Slightly Annoying Elephant written by David Walliams and illustrated by Tony Ross. Illustrations © Tony Ross 2013. Cyrano de Bergerac (As Live/Fel yn Fyw 12A)

By Edmond Rostand, in a new version by Martin Crimp Directed by Jamie Lloyd James McAvoy (X-Men, Atonement) returns to the stage in an inventive new adaptation of Cyrano de Bergerac, broadcast live to cinemas from the West End in London. Fierce with a pen and notorious in combat, Cyrano almost has it all - if only he could win the heart of his true love Roxane. There’s just one big problem: he has a nose as huge as his heart. Will a society engulfed by narcissism get the better of Cyrano - or can his mastery of language set Roxane’s world alight? Mae James McAvoy (X-Men, Atonement) yn dychwelyd i’r llwyfan mewn addasiad newydd dyfeisgar o Cyrano de Bergerac, sy’n cael ei ddarlledu’n fyw i sinemâu o’r West End yn Llundain. Yn feiddgar gyda’i bin ysgrifennu ac yn beryglus mewn brwydr, mae’n ymddangos fel petai gan Cyrano y cyfan - petai ond yn gallu ennill calon ei annwyl Roxane. Ond mae ganddo gryn broblem: trwyn mor fawr â’i galon. A fydd Cyrano yn llwyddo i gael y gorau ar werthoedd narsisistig cymdeithas - neu a fydd ei feistrolaeth ar iaith yn llwyddo i swyno Roxane?

Fidelio (As Live/Fel yn Fyw 12A) Music/Cerddoriaeth Ludwig van Beethoven Director/Cyfarwyddwr Tobias Kratzer Royal Opera Chorus/Corws yr Opera Frenhinol Orchestra of the Royal Opera House/Cerddorfa’r Tŷ Opera Brenhinol Beethoven’s only opera is a masterpiece, an uplifting story of risk and triumph. In this new production, Jonas Kaufmann plays the political prisoner Florestan, and Lise Davidsen his wife Leonore (disguised as ‘Fidelio’) who daringly sets out to rescue him. Set in strong counterpoint are the ingredients of domestic intrigue, determined love and the cruelty of an oppressive regime. The music is transcendent throughout and includes the famous Act I Quartet, the Prisoners’ Chorus and Florestan’s impassioned Act II cry in the darkness and vision of hope. Mae unig opera Beethoven yn gampwaith, ac yn stori o risg a goruchafiaeth. Yn y cynhyrchiad newydd hwn, mae Jonas Kaufmann yn chwarae’r carcharor gwleidyddol Florestan, a Lise Davidsen ei wraig Leonore (wedi’i chuddwisgo fel ‘Fidelio’), sy’n bwriadu ei achub yn feiddgar. Tensions arise between the locals and newcomers, with tragic consequences. Stunningly shot on a vintage 16mm camera, Bait is a funny, yet poignant new film that gets to the heart of a community facing unwelcome change.

Sgotwr heb gwch yw Martin, ar ôl i’w frawd Steven ei addasu’n gwch gwibdaith i ymwelwyr. Gyda’u haelwyd bellach yn dŷ haf i Lundeinwyr, mae ymdrechion Martin i adfer lle traddodiadol y teulu yn achosi gwrthdaro cynyddol gyda’r twristiaid a’r trigolion lleol fel ei gilydd. Yna, mae trasiedi teuluol yn newid pethau am byth.

In the mid-seventies, a strange man arrives in a quiet provincial city. In a restaurant, without any apparent reason, he starts insulting Claudio, a renowned lawyer. The stranger is humiliated and thrown out. Later that night the stranger intercepts Claudio and his wife, who takes a path of no return involving death and secrets.

Yng nghanol y saithdegau, mae dyn rhyfedd ar y naw yn cyrraedd dinas ranbarthol gysglyd. Mewn bwyty, mae’n dechrau pardduo Claudio, cyfreithiwr o fri, heb unrhyw reswm yn y byd yn ôl pob golwg. The Personal History of David Copperfield (PG) Dir/Cyf: Armando Iannucci 2019 UK USA 1hr/awr 59mins/mnd Tilda Swinton, Ben Whishaw, Dev Patel, Hugh Laurie From birth to infancy, from adolescence to adulthood, the good-hearted David Copperfield is surrounded by kindness, wickedness, poverty and wealth, as he meets an array of remarkable characters in Victorian England. As David sets out to be a writer, in his quest for family, friendship, romance and status, the story of his life is the most seductive tale of all.

O’i enedigaeth i’w fabandod, o fyd plentyn i fyd oedolyn, mae David Copperfield hynaws wedi’i amgylchynu gan garedigrwydd, drygioni, tlodi a chyfoeth yn Lloegr Oes Fictoria, wrth iddo gwrdd â llu o gymeriadau bythgofiadwy. Wrth i David ymroi i ysgrifennu am deulu, cyfeillgarwch, rhamant a statws, stori ei fywyd yntau yw’r stori fwyaf cyfareddol oll. ‘Everything rattles and zings like a pinball machine, and it’s a bracing, entertaining, richly satisfying experience.’ THE GUARDIAN

Yn seiliedig ar sgandal go iawn, mae’r ffilm hon yn codi cwr y llen ar yr ymerodraeth fwyaf grymus a dadleuol ym myd y cyfryngau erioed; Fox News, a stori ffrwydrol y menywod a arweiniodd at gwymp y dyn drwg-enwog a greodd y cyfan.

Hanes hypnotig, rhithiol, am ddau geidwad y goleudy ar ynys ddirgel, anghysbell, ger arfordir New England yn y 1890au.
