Fairport Convention have been entertaining music lovers for over half a century, with 2022 being their 55th anniversary! During that time the band that launched British folkrock has seen many changes, but one thing has remained the same - Fairport’s passion for performance. This year’s Winter Tour will present a mix of longestablished Fairport favourites and some surprises from albums old and new including their latest album, Shuffle & Go, which was released just before ‘lockdown’ in 2020. The band features founding member Simon Nicol on guitar and vocals, Dave Pegg on bass guitar, Ric Sanders on violin, Chris Leslie on fiddle, mandolin and vocals, and Gerry Conway on drums and percussion. Special Guest for the Tour is Singer / Songwriter - Luke Jackson. Luke is a wonderful performer gaining much recognition for his recorded work as well as touring the UK, Europe, and America relentlessly.

“Fairport is an institution, a festival, purveyors of memories, and keepers of the folk flame. But most of all they are a brilliant live band.” FOLK & TUMBLE Bu Fairport Convention yn diddanu carwyr cerddoriaeth ers dros hanner canrif, ac maent yn dathlu eu pen-blwydd yn 55 yn 2022! Yn ystod yr amser hwn, mae’r band, wnaeth lansio roc gwerin Prydain, wedi gweld nifer o newidiadau, ond mae un peth wedi aros yr un fath – angerdd Fairport am berfformio. A new one-person show created by Sonia Beck and Derek Cobley. Performed by Sonia Beck. Directed and designed by Derek Cobley. Suffragist, industrialist, philanthropist; Amy Dillwyn was a cigar-smoking, boundary breaking change-maker. A trailblazing radical ahead of her time. A woman who became a legend in her own lifetime. This is her story, adapted from her own words as found in her diaries and novels. Presented at Queen Victoria’s court as a daughter of a radical Swansea MP and friend of the Prince of Wales, Amy was destined for a life as a wife and mother, living on one of the rich estates of South Wales. Amy had other

ideas. A best-selling novelist, pioneering industrialist and campaigner for the rights of women and social justice; her ground-breaking public life was only matched in passion by the desires of her private life. This is a co-production with The Welfare Ystradgynlais, and is made possible with the help of Arts Council Wales.

The Many Lives of Amy Dillwyn £14 £12 Gostyngiadau/ Concessions

Sioe un person newydd a grëwyd gan Sonia Beck a Derek Cobley. Wedi’i pherfformio gan Sonia Beck. Wedi’i chyfarwyddo a’i dylunio gan Derek Cobley. Roedd Amy Dillwyn yn ysmygu sigârs, yn croeswisgo ac yn annog newid. Yn radical arloesol o flaen ei hamser. Menyw a ddaeth yn chwedl yn ei hoes ei hun. Dyma ei stori hi, wedi’i haddasu o’i geiriau ei hun fel y gwelir yn ei dyddiaduron a’i nofelau. Cafodd ei chyflwyno yn llys y Frenhines Victoria fel merch i AS radical o Abertawe a oedd yn ffrind i Dywysog Cymru. Tynged Amy oedd i fyw bywyd fel gwraig a mam, yn byw ar un o ystadau cyfoethog De Cymru. Roedd gan Amy syniadau eraill. Nofelydd poblogaidd, diwydiannwr arloesol ac ymgyrchydd dros hawliau menywod a chyfiawnder cymdeithasol; roedd ei bywyd cyhoeddus blaengar yn dwyn yr un angerdd â’i dyheadau yn ei bywyd preifat Mae’r sioe yn gynhyrchiad ar y cyd gyda Neuadd Les Ystradgynlais, ac mae wedi derbyn cymorth gan Gyngor Celfyddydau Cymru.

FROM THE TEAM BEHIND THE AWARD-WINNING GRAV

GARETH J BALE

Carwyn is a brand-new play about the life of Carwyn James. Written by Owen Thomas, the award-winning writer of hit Torch Theatre production ‘Grav’, the play will explore the life of a man who made an incredible, indelible impact on his homeland. A man who adored sport, culture, politics, and Wales, Carwyn James had a career that comprised everything from teaching to broadcasting to coaching to espionage. To this day he remains the only Coach to mastermind a series victory for the British Lions

against the All Blacks. Carwyn will attempt to unravel the enigma of a multi-layered man. A man ahead of his time. A man who was alone in a crowd. A man uncomfortable in his own skin. Directed by Gareth John Bale (the star of ‘Grav’) and starring Simon Nehan as Carwyn James, this play will look at the dramatic life of a Welsh cultural icon who left the field far too soon.

Drama newydd sbon yw Carwyn am fywyd Carwyn James. Wedi ei hysgrifennu gan Owen Thomas, yr awdur gwobrwyedig am ei gynhyrchiad poblogaidd gan Theatr y Torch sef, ‘Grav’, mae’r ddrama’n archwilio bywyd dyn wnaeth gael effaith anghredadwy, parhaol ar ei famwlad. Yn ddyn wnaeth addoli chwaraeon, diwylliant, gwleidyddiaeth, a Chymru, cafodd Carwyn James yrfa wnaeth gynnwys popeth o addysgu i ddarlledu i hyfforddi ac ysbïwriaeth. Hyd heddiw, mae’n parhau’r unig Hyfforddwr i greu cyfres o fuddugoliaethau ar gyfer y Llewod Prydeinig yn erbyn y Crysau Duon. Bydd Carwyn yn ceisio datrys yr enigma o ddyn aml-haenog. Dyn o flaen ei amser. Dyn a oedd ar ben ei hun mewn tyrfa. Dyn nad oedd yn esmwyth yn ei groen ei hun. Wedi ei chyfarwyddo gan Gareth John Bale (seren ‘Grav’) ac yn serennu Simon Nehan fel Carwyn James, edrycha’r ddrama hon ar fywyd dramatig eicon diwylliannol Cymreig wnaeth adael y cae chwarae yn llawer rhy gynnar.

a new musical based on/Sioe gerdd newydd yn seiliedig ar y Rhiain Gwsg Sleeping Beauty directed by/cyfarwyddwyd gan Rufus Norris

A vividly original retelling of Sleeping Beauty, a mythic, big-hearted new musical that goes beyond the waking kiss. Rufus Norris directs Rosalie Craig (The Ferryman, Company) in this new musical filmed live on stage at the National Theatre, with music

by Jim Fortune, book by Tanya Ronder. Captured live from the Olivier Stage at the National Theatre, Rufus Norris directs the world premiere of this contemporary twist on Sleeping Beauty, featuring brand new music and lyrics.

Mewn byd o ormodedd a llygredd, mae campwaith Verdi yn dangos effeithiau trychinebus ymrafael rhwng pŵer a diniweidrwydd. Spencer (12A)

Though rumours of affairs and a divorce abound, peace is ordained for the Christmas festivities at the Queen’s Sandringham Estate. There’s eating and drinking, shooting and hunting. Diana knows the game. But this year, things will be profoundly different. Spencer is an imagining of what might have happened during those few fateful days.

Er bod llu o hanesion ar led ynghylch carwriaethau ac ysgariad, mae dathliadau Nadolig Ystâd y Frenhines yn Sandringham i fod yn gyfnod heddychlon. Bydd yno yfed a bwyta, hela a saethu. Mae Diana’n gyfarwydd â’r gêm. Ond eleni, bydd pethau’n gwbl wahanol. Mae Spencer yn dychmygu beth allai fod wedi digwydd yn ystod y diwrnodau tyngedfennol hynny.

The Electrical Life of Louis Wain (12A)

Dir/Cyf: Will Sharpe 2021 1hr/awr 51mins/mnd Benedict Cumberbatch, Claire Foy, Andrea Riseborough Following the incredible adventures of this inspiring, unsung hero, is the extraordinary true story of eccentric British artist Louis Wain who rose to prominence at the end of the 19th century for his surreal cat paintings that seemed to reflect his declining sanity. With his playful, sometimes even psychedelic pictures he sought to unlock the electrical mysteries of the world and, in so doing, to better understand his own life and the profound love he shared with his wife Emily Richardson.

Wrth ddilyn anturiaethau anhygoel yr arwr hwn, sy’n ddi-sôn amdano er iddo ysbrydoli cynifer, cawn stori wir ryfeddol yr artist ecsentrig o Brydain, Louis Wain, a ddaeth i amlygrwydd ar ddiwedd y 19eg ganrif am ei baentiadau swreal o gathod, a oedd fel petaent yn adlewyrchu’r dirywiad yn ei iechyd meddwl. The Souvenir Part II (15)

Based on director Hogg’s real-life experiences while attending film school in London in the early ‘80s. In the aftermath of her tumultuous relationship with a charismatic but manipulative older man, Julie begins to untangle her fraught love in making her graduation film, sorting fact from his elaborately constructed fiction.

Seiliwyd ar brofiadau bywyd go iawn y cyfarwyddwr, Hogg, pan oedd hi’n mynychu ysgol ffilm yn Llundain ar ddechrau’r ‘80au. Yn sgîl ei pherthynas gythryblus â dyn hŷn, sy’n garismataidd ond yn ceisio’i rheoli, mae Julie yn dechrau datod clymau tensiwn ei charia wrth greu ei ffilm graddio, ac yn gwahanu’r ffeithiau oddi wrth ei ffuglen yntau, a luniwyd mor gelfydd.

Janis, middle-aged, doesn’t regret it and she is exultant. The other, Ana, an adolescent, is scared, repentant and traumatized. Janis tries to encourage her while they move like sleepwalkers along the hospital corridors At very different places in life, the few words they exchange in these hours will create a link between them, which by chance develops and changes their lives in a decisive way.

50 mlynedd yn union i ddyddiad ei ryddhau gyntaf, mae Taliesin yn cynnig cyfle prin i chi wylio camp eiconig Francis Ford Coppola ar y sgrîn fawr.

Parallel Mothers reaffirms the familiar pleasures of Almodóvar’s filmmaking.

Nid yw Janis, sy’n ganol oed, yn edifar o gwbl, ac mae’n gorfoleddu. Mae’r llall, Ana, sydd yng nghyfnod y glasoed, yn ofnus, yn edifar, ac wedi trawmateiddio. Mae Janis yn ceisio’i chalonogi wrth iddyn nhw symud ar hyd coridorau’r ysbyty, fel petaent yn cerdded yn eu cwsg. Maent mewn mannau gwahanol iawn yn eu bywydau, ond bydd yr ychydig eiriau a gyfnewidir ganddynt yn ystod yr oriau hyn yn creu dolen gyswllt rhyngddynt, a fydd yn digwydd datblygu a newid eu bywydau mewn modd pendant.

The Duke (12)

Dir/Cyf: Roger Michell 2020 1hr/awr 36mins/mnd Jim Broadbent, Helen Mirren, Heather Craney, Stephen Rashbrook In 1961, Kempton Bunton, a 60-year-old taxi driver, stole Goya’s portrait of the Duke of Wellington from the National Gallery in London, vowing to return the painting on condition that the government invested more in care for the elderly. What happened next became the stuff of legend. Amidst Kempton’s web of lies, the only truth was that he was a good man, determined to change the world and save his marriage - how and why he used the Duke to achieve that is a wonderfully uplifting tale.

Yn 1961, aeth Kempton Bunton, gyrrwr tacsi 60 oed, ati i ddwyn portread Goya o Ddug Wellington o’r Oriel Genedlaethol yn Llundain, gan addo y byddai’n dychwelyd y farlun ar yr amod bod y llywodraeth yn buddsoddi mwy mewn gofal i’r henoed. Mae’r hyn ddigwyddodd wedyn bron yn chwedlonol erbyn hyn. Ymhlith holl gelwyddau Kempton, yr unig wirionedd oedd ei fod yn ddyn da, ac yn benderfynol o newid y byd ac achub ei briodas – mae sut a pham defnyddiodd e’r Dug i gyflawni hynny yn stori fydd yn rhoi hwb aruthrol i chi.
