Social entrepreneurship (Evgen Zajc) Social entrepreneurship is the recognition of a social problem and the uses of entrepreneurial principles to organize, create and manage a social venture – an undertaking by a firm or organization established by a social entrepreneur that seeks to provide systemic solutions to achieve a sustainable social objective (social change). Social entrepreneurs are individuals with innovative solutions to society’s most pressing social problems. They are ambitious and persistent, tackling major social issues and offering new ideas for wide-scale change. Rather than leaving societal needs to the government or business sectors, social entrepreneurs find what is not working and solve the problem by changing the system, spreading the solution, and persuading entire societies to take new leaps. While a business entrepreneur typically measures performance in profit and return, a social entrepreneur also measures positive returns to society. If you want to be the one who will make a change in the society, you shouldn't wait – there are a lot of possibilities in the world, you just have to open your eyes and find them!
