WHO HAS MOST INFLUENCED YOU TO BECOME AN EDUCATOR, AND HOW DID THEY INFLUENCE YOU?

THIS MAY NOT COME AS MUCH OF A SURPRISE, BUT IT WAS MY GRADE 12 ENGLISH TEACHER WHO INFLUENCED ME TO BECOME AN EDUCATOR. SHE WAS ALWAYS KIND AND MADE A REALLY BIG DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE DURING A PERIOD WHERE I WAS UNSURE OF MY PLACE IN THE WORLD. DESPITE HER INFLUENCE, WHEN I WAS AT UNIVERSITY COMPLETING MY UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE, I STILL HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WANTED TO DO AFTER GRADUATION. AS GRADUATION APPROACHED, I STARTED VOLUNTEERING WITH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS, WHICH REMINDED ME OF MY GRADE 12 ENGLISH TEACHER AND HER KINDNESS IN HER INTERACTIONS WITH ME. IT WAS THEN THAT I DECIDED THIS IS WHAT I WANTED TO DO. I WANTED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE SAME WAY THAT SHE HAD MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TEACHING?

I'VE BEEN TEACHING FOR ABOUT FOUR YEARS. WHAT IS YOUR TEACHING PHILOSOPHY?

MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY IS THAT ALL STUDENTS, AS DIVERSE LEARNERS, HAVE DIVERSE NEEDS THAT MUST BE MET IN ORDER TO ENSURE THEIR SUCCESS. THIS IS WHY I ALWAYS DO MY BEST TO CREATE A CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT THAT FEELS SAFE, WELCOME, AND IS A SPACE TO EXPLORE IDEAS WITHOUT FEAR. AS A TEACHER WHO TEACHES PLENTY COURSES, WHAT CHALLENGES DO YOU ENCOUNTER AND HOW DO MANAGE THEM?

I THINK THAT MY BIGGEST CHALLENGE IS MAKING SURE THAT THE COURSE MATERIAL SPEAKS TO STUDENTS IN SOME WAY. IT'S MY BELIEF THAT ALL STUDENTS ARE CAPABLE OF SUCCEEDING, BUT THEY CAN ONLY DO SO WHEN PRESENTED WITH MATERIAL THAT INTERESTS THEM, SHIFTS THEIR PERSPECTIVE, AND MAKES THEM ASK QUESTIONS. I NOT ONLY TEACH MULTIPLE COURSES, BUT I ALSO TEACH STUDENTS FROM DIFFERENT CULTURES, AND IT'S IMPORTANT TO ME THAT THEY FEEL AT HOME, EVEN IN THE SMALLEST OF WAYS, WHEN THEY'RE IN MY CLASSROOM. DESCRIBE FOR ME A LESSON YOU TEACH THAT WENT VERY WELL. WHY DOES THE LESSON WORK SO WELL?

THIS SEMESTER, I TAUGHT A LESSON INTRODUCING STUDENTS TO THE 1920S AS AN INTRODUCTION TO THE NOVEL, THE GREAT GATSBY. IN PARTICULAR, I HAD STUDENTS CONDUCT SOME RESEARCH ON 1920S ENTERTAINMENT AND DISCUSS THEIR FINDINGS IN SMALL GROUPS BEFORE SHARING WITH THE CLASS. I THINK THIS LESSON WORKED WELL BECAUSE STUDENTS WERE INTERESTED. ENTERTAINMENT IS SOMETHING THAT PEOPLE INTERACT WITH CONSTANTLY, IN SO MANY DIFFERENT FORMS, AND MY STUDENTS WERE ABLE TO DRAW CONNECTIONS BETWEEN ENTERTAINMENT IN THE PAST VERSUS THE PRESENT. IT WAS A LOT OF FUN FOR THEM. WHAT METHODS OF TEACHING, BESIDE LECTURE, WOULD YOU USE TO PRESENT MATERIAL TO YOUR STUDENTS?

LECTURE CAN BE USEFUL, BUT NOT EVERYONE LEARNS IN THIS WAY, SO INCLUDING A VARIETY OF INSTRUCTION STRATEGIES IS IMPORTANT. DEPENDING ON WHAT'S BEING TAUGHT, I USUALLY SHOW VIDEOS, LEAD SMALL OR LARGE GROUP DISCUSSIONS, AND LEAD DEMONSTRATIONS. I ESPECIALLY LOVE COMBINING LITERATURE WITH SOCIAL MEDIA AND VISUAL ARTS, SINCE BOTH ARE THINGS THAT STUDENTS SEEM TO BE INTERESTED IN. SOCIAL MEDIA-BASED ACTIVITIES ALWAYS GENERATE DISCUSSION WHENEVER I USE THEM IN MY ENGLISH CLASSES. WHAT HAVE YOU READ LATELY THAT YOU TO CHANGE THE WAY YOU TEACH?

LED

UNFORTUNATELY I DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME TO READ THESE DAYS, BUT WHEN I DO, I LOVE READING

BOOKS ABOUT ART OF ALL KINDS. THERE'S NO SPECIFIC BOOK THAT HAS CHANGED THE WAY I TEACH, BUT READING MATERIAL SUCH AS THIS HAS REALLY HELPED TO EXPAND MY UNDERSTANDING OF HOW STUDENTS LEARN AND HOW TO CREATIVELY PRESENT MATERIAL TO MY CLASSES. WHAT THREE ADMINISTRATORS DESCRIBE YOU?

I'VE BEEN CALLED ENERGETIC.

OR

WORDS STUDENTS

FUNNY,

WOULD USE TO

CREATIVE,

AND

PLEASE SHARE AN EXPERIENCE IN WHICH YOU SUCCESSFULLY TAUGHT A DIFFICULT PRINCIPLE OR CONCEPT. HOW WERE YOU ABLE TO BE SUCCESSFUL?

WHENEVER I INTRODUCE LITERARY THEORY TO GRADE 11 STUDENTS, THEY GET IMMEDIATELY DISCOURAGED BECAUSE IT'S SUCH A NEW CONCEPT TO THEM. WITH TEACHING THIS PARTICULAR CONCEPT, I USUALLY FIND THAT I'M MOST SUCCESSFUL WHEN I BREAK DOWN THE THEORIES INTO SMALLER COMPONENTS. EXPLAINING WITH SOME DIRECT TEACHING HELPS, BUT I USUALLY ALLOW STUDENTS TO EXPLORE ON THEIR OWN THROUGH ACTIVITIES DONE IN PAIRS. THIS WAY, THEY HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO APPLY WHAT THEY LEARN WITHOUT ANY PRESSURE OR FEAR OF BEING WRONG. MOST STUDENTS ENCOUNTER STRUGGLES WITH ESSAY WRITING, WHAT TIPS WOULD YOU GIVE THEM TO HAVE A GOOD PRESENTABLE ACADEMIC ESSAY?

I THINK THAT THE MOST DIFFICULT PART OF ESSAY WRITING FOR STUDENTS IS THAT THEY STRUGGLE WITH SUPPORTING THEIR ARGUMENTS WITH EVIDENCE. BEFORE EVEN STARTING YOUR ESSAY, CONSIDER MAKING AN OUTLINE TO ORGANIZE YOUR ARGUMENTS AND SUPPORTING POINTS. ONCE YOU HAVE THAT, BEGIN ASSEMBLING YOUR WORK INTO PARAGRAPH FORMAT AND ENSURE THAT YOU THOROUGHLY EXPLAIN YOUR EXAMPLES. ALSO, MAKE SURE THAT YOUR ESSAY EXPRESSES AN OPINION; IT SHOULD NEVER BE A SUMMARY. LASTLY, EDIT! EDIT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. IT NEVER HURTS TO HAVE AN ADDITIONAL SET OF EYES LOOKING OVER YOUR ESSAY TO MAKE SURE IT'S FREE OF ANY ERRORS. FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS, WHAT   KNOWLEDGE DO YOU THINK GET FROM CANADIAN HISTORY AND HOW HELPFUL IS IT?

I THINK THAT CANADIAN HISTORY IS PARTICULARLY HELPFUL TO INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS, BECAUSE IT INTRODUCES THEM TO CULTURES, BELIEFS, AND WAYS OF LIFE THAT

THEY MAY NOT BE THAT FAMILIAR WITH. THIS SUBJECT AREA IS ALSO A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN ABOUT HOW CANADIAN SOCIETY WORKS, THE IMPACT OF THE LAW ON CITIZENS, AND TO LEARN ABOUT THE DIVERSE PEOPLE THAT MAKE UP THIS COUNTRY. CANADIAN HISTORY ALSO TEACHES STUDENTS HOW THEY CAN GET INVOLVED IN MAKING THEIR VOICES HEARD, AND HOW THEY CAN STAND UP TO INJUSTICE WHEN THEY COME ACROSS IT. OSSLT

IS

AN

STUDENTS

THAT THEIR

OSSD, WHAT METHODS CAN THEY USE TO PASS IT?

I CAN ONLY GIVE ONE PIECE OF ADVICE FOR THIS, AND IT'S THIS: PRACTICE. FIGURE OUT WHAT YOUR WEAKNESSES ARE, AND START THERE. IF YOU STRUGGLE WITH READING COMPREHENSION, IT MAY BE A GOOD IDEA TO READ A LITTLE EACH DAY AND TAKE NOTE OF ANY DIFFICULT WORDS YOU COME ACROSS. IF YOU STRUGGLE WITH WRITING, THEN PRACTICE WRITING DIFFERENT THINGS AND HAVE SOMEONE LOOK OVER YOUR WORK FOR ANY ERRORS. UNFORTUNATELY, THERE'S NO MAGIC FORMULA TO PASSING THE OSSLT, BUT PRACTICING YOUR SKILLS BEFOREHAND WILL GO A LONG WAY IN ENSURING THAT YOU'RE PREPARED. HOW

IS

LITERATURE

USEFUL

IN

EVERYDAY

LIFE?

WHEN STUDENTS COME TO MY CLASS, THEY OFTEN TELL ME THAT LITERATURE HAS NO PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS TO THE REAL WORLD, BUT I HAVE TO SAY THAT ONE OF THE REASONS WHY I LOVE TEACHING LITERATURE IS BECAUSE THE EXACT OPPOSITE IS TRUE. LITERATURE - THE STORIES, THE CHARACTERS, THE THEMES CONTAINED THEREIN - IS A REFLECTION OF OUR OWN WORLD. LITERATURE IS A REFLECTION OF SOCIETY'S PROBLEMS, SOLUTIONS, AND THE HOPES AND DREAMS OF ITS PEOPLE. IT'S A WAY OF LOOKING AT, AND UNDERSTANDING THE WORLD FROM DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES THAT WE MAY HAVE NEVER CONSIDERED BEFORE. DO YOU HAVE ANY LEARNING EXPERIENCE OR ADVICE

YOU

WOULD

WITH

STUDENTS?

I'M SOMEONE WHO FIRMLY BELIEVES THAT PEOPLE SHOULD LIVE THE LIFE THAT MAKES THEM HAPPY, WHICH IS WHY THIS IS THE ONE PIECE OF ADVICE I ALWAYS GIVE TO STUDENTS. FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS, MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD, AND DO WHAT BRINGS YOU JOY. WHAT OTHERS SAY DOESN'T MATTER; YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN LIVE YOUR LIFE FOR YOU, SO MAKE LIFE WHATEVER YOU WANT IT TO BE.

THE FIRST TIME I MET SOPIA, I THOUGHT SHE WAS CHINESE. SHE WAS STAYING WITH VICTORY AND SPEAKING ENGLISH. I WAS NOT SURE WHERE SHE WAS FROM, SO I ASKED HER IF SHE WAS CHINESE OR NOT. HER ENGLISH WAS GOOD AT THAT TIME. AND LATER, WE WENT BACK TO MANSON TOWER TOGETHER. THE NEXT SEMESTER AFTER WE MET EACH OTHER FOR THE FIRST TIME, WE BOTH CHOSE ADVANCED FUNCTIONS. WE BECAME CLASSMATES AND DESK MATES. DURING THAT TIME, WE KNEW EACH OTHER DEEPLY BECAUSE WE ALWAYS SPOKE WHEN THE TEACHER ASKS US TO PRACTICE. SOPIA: CANDICE AND I FIRST MET AT AN ART GALLERY. AND MY FIRST IMPRESSION WAS THAT SHE WAS VERY GOOD AT ENGLISH AND SMART. AND I WANTED TO BE FRIENDS QUICKLY BECAUSE I THINK I HAVE A VERY FRIENDLY PERSONALITY.

What was the most memorable experience and adventure together?

CANDICE: ONCE, WE SPENT ALMOST FOUR HOURS TALKING. NATURALLY, WE LOCKED EYES, AND SOPIA PUT ON A SMILE. SHE LOOKS VERY EASYGOING, SO I NICELY ASKED HOW HER DAY WAS. THAT’S HOW THIS CONVERSATION STARTED. REGARDING THE CONTENT OF THE CONVERSATION, SOME PRIVATE THINGS, AND TYPICAL SMALL TALK, LIKE HOW SHE HAD BEEN LATELY, HOW THINGS WERE. I COULD SAY THAT I FELT A LITTLE EMOTIONAL, AND THIS CONVERSATION MOVED ME ON SO MANY LEVELS. WHAT I’M TRYING TO SAY IS AFTER GROWING UP,WE OFTEN TRIED TO HIDE OUR SADNESS IN FRONT OF OUR PARENTS AS WE DO NOT WANT THEM TO WORRY. BUT SOMETIMES, WE COULD NOT HOLD IT ANYMORE. SO, COMMUNICATING WITH A SWEET FRIEND MIGHT BE AN EXCELLENT WAY TO EXPRESS OUR TRUE FEELINGS AND RELEASE OUR EMOTIONS. SOPIA: I REMEMBER TALKING TO CANDACE ABOUT A TRUE PRIVATE STORY. I THINK I'VE BECOME MORE HONEST WITH HER SINCE THIS EXPERIENCE

CANDICE: SOPIA ALWAYS TEACHES ME KOREAN, WHICH MAKES ME FEEL EXCITED. SHE TAUGHT ME HOW TO SAY,“YOU ARE MY BEST FRIEND” IN KOREAN AND MANY OTHER SENTENCES. NOW WE ARE IN THE SAME CALCULUS CLASS,AND WE ARE DESK MATES. WHEN WE HAVE SOME QUESTIONS THAT WE DO NOT KNOW, WE ASK EACH OTHER,WHICH MADE OUR FRIENDSHIP MORE STABLE. SOPIA: HEALTH SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY THING THAT CAN BE EXCHANGED FOR FRIENDSHIP

VICTORY AND SOFIA

VICTORY: IT WAS AT 2AM IN THE EARLY HOURS OF THE MORNING, I JUST FINISHED WATCHING A MOVIE, GOT INTO MY BED AND THEN I HEARD SOMEONE OPENING MY DOOR, I WAS SO SCARED, I HAD TO QUIETLY GET DOWN OF MY BED AND STARTED PRAYING TO GOD TO SAVE ME. I HONESTLY THOUGHT IT WAS A GHOST. AFTER PRAYING, I GATHERED COURAGE AND CAME OUT OF MY ROOM AND ENTERED THE ROOM NEXT TO MINE. TO MY SURPRISE I SAW MY NEW ROOMMATE BEFORE ME. MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF HER WAS LIKE A CUTE LITTLE TEDDY BEAR I COULD CUDDLE ALL DAY. I JUST HAD A GOOD CONNECTION OR VIBE WHEN I WAS TALKING TO HER. WE SPENT A LONG TIME TALKING, WHEN WE WERE DONE, I ENTERED MY ROOM, I JUST PRAYED TO GOD TO FORGET EVERYTHING I PRAYED ABOUT FEW MINUTES AGO. SOFIA: I WAS SO TIRED FROM MY TRIP I WANTED TO SLEEP SO BADLY. WHEN I ENTERED THE ROOM, I SAW THAT MY ROOMMATE’S LIGHTS WERE OFF SO I THOUGHT SHE WOULD ALREADY BE ASLEEP. HONESTLY, I WAS NERVOUS TO MEET MY ROOMMATE. I ENTERED MY ROOM AND STARTED UNPACKING MY THINGS, THEN I HEARD SOMEONE SAYING ‘HI’. MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF VICTORY WAS NICE AND FRIENDLY. AT THAT MOMENT WE JUST CLICKED WE SPENT A LONG TIME TALKING BEFORE WE ENTERED OUR SEPARATE ROOMS TO SLEEP.

What was the most memorable experience and adventure together? VICTORY: I THINK MY MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE FOR ME WOULD BE WHEN WE WERE IN MATH CLASS, SOFIA WAS IN A BAD MOOD BECAUSE SHE COULD NOT UNDERSTAND ANYTHING IN THE LESSON, AND THEY ASSIGNED A QUESTION TO HER TO SOLVE AND TO SUBMIT IT LATER. SO, SHE HAD TO ASK FOR THE TEACHER'S HELP BUT THE CLUES THE TEACHER GAVE TO HER ONLY MADE HER TO GET MORE CONFUSED. SO, IT WAS TIME TO SUBMIT THE WORK SINCE SHE COULD NOT UNDERSTAND SHE JUST SUBMITTED WHAT SHE COULD DO. THE TEACHER SAW THIS AND STARTED SCOLDING HER. SOFIA COULD NOT TAKE IT AND SHE EXPLODED I ESPECIALLY WAS SPEECHLESS, I WAS LIKE “YO, MY ROOMMATE IS A BADDIE”. THAT DAY I LEARNT THAT SHE DOESN’T LIKE TO BE OVER STRESSED OUT, IF SHE IS THEN SHE EXPLODES, AND SHE HATES DISRESPECT OF ANY FORM.

ip sh d n ie fr r ou y t u bo a e g n a ch What is one thing you would ge about your friendship? an ch ot n ld ou w ou y g in th e on and VICTORY: HONESTLY, I AM SPEAKING FOR MYSELF AND SOFIA, YES, WE ARE FROM SEPARATE COUNTRIES, FAMILIES, CULTURES, TRADITIONS, AND RELIGIONS, WHAT IS GOOD AND BAD. HECK WE HAVE DIFFERENT LIKES AND DISLIKES. BUT WE CAN STILL BE FRIENDS, WE CAN STILL HAVE A SIMILAR TASTE IN ONE AREA OR ANOTHER. IF WE GET ALONG THEN IT’S OKAY. GOD MADE US TO CROSS PATHS FOR A REASON AND I AM HAPPY, SATISFIED AND GRATEFUL THAT I MET SOPHIA. AND SHE FEELS THE SAME FOR ME TOO.

JAPANESE BEAUTY YOUTUBER SAAYA INTRODUCES KOREAN MAKEUP PRODUCTS / SOURCE: YOUTUBE CHANNEL SAAYA

In Japan, 'Ulzzang' makeup is the best! THE KOREAN BEAUTY MARKET IS AMONG THE TOP 10 AROUND THE WORLD. THE KOREAN COSMETICS TRADE SURPLUS HAS RECENTLY SURPASSED 4 TRILLION FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER. THANKS TO THE KOREAN WAVE, IT IS LOVED IN MANY COUNTRIES, FROM CHINA TO SOUTHEAST ASIA TO EUROPE. SO NATURALLY, THE QUESTION IS, WHAT IS THE ATTRACTION OF K-BEAUTY THAT CAPTIVATES THE WORLD? “THESE DAYS, I CAN'T TELL WHETHER IT'S JAPANESE OR KOREAN." SAID A YOUNG JAPANESE WOMAN RECENTLY. ACCORDING TO HER, KOREAN MAKEUP AND FASHION ARE POPULAR AMONG YOUNG JAPANESE PEOPLE THESE DAYS. THE KOREAN SKIN TONE IS CLEAR AND NATURAL, AND RED LIPS ARE THE MAIN FOCAL POINT. WE WERE SURPRISED TO HEAR THAT NOT ONLY MAKEUP BUT ALSO HAIRSTYLES ARE SIMILAR IN POPULARITY. IRONICALLY, I THINK OF AN ERA WHEN I WAS SO ABSORBED IN JAPANESE CULTURE THAT I LISTENED TO JAPANESE MUSIC AND FOLLOWED THEIR VARIOUS METHODS. ACCORDING TO KOTRA, KOREAN-STYLE MAKEUP HAS BECOME POPULAR AMONG WOMEN IN THEIR TEENS AND TWENTIES IN JAPAN, WHICH HAS A HUGE IMPACT ON KOREAN COSMETIC PURCHASES. 'ULZZANG,' WHICH MEANS "A PRETTY FACE", MEANS A MAKEUP METHOD THAT KOREAN FEMALE ENTERTAINERS USUALLY USE. THEY SHARE INFORMATION ON HOW TO DO MAKE UP AND DO THEIR HAIR USING ONLINE PLATFORMS. IT'S NOT ONLY JAPAN. WITH DREW BARRYMORE AT THE FOREFRONT, HOLLYWOOD STARS SUCH AS EMMA STONE HAVE ALSO FALLEN IN LOVE WITH KOREAN COSMETICS. IF JAPANESE WOMEN ARE INTO KOREAN MAKEUP STYLES AND PRODUCTS, THEY ARE AUTHENTICATING THEIR KOREAN COSMETICS THROUGH SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES AGAINST THE QUALITY OF KOREA'S BASIC COSMETICS AND MASK PACKS. K-beauty frontrunners - Beauty YouTubers SOME INFLUENCERS HAVE LED THE BEAUTY TREND. THEY'RE BEAUTY YOUTUBERS. AND THEY ARE LEADING THE K-BEAUTY TREND WITH KOREAN IDOL, HOLLYWOOD STARS COVER MAKEUP AND NEW PRODUCT REVIEWS. THE YOUTUBE VIDEOS ARE FILLED WITH COMMENTS FROM VARIOUS LANGUAGES RANGING FROM KOREAN TO ENGLISH, JAPANESE, CHINESE, AND SPANISH. THERE ARE MILLIONS OF SUBSCRIBERS WHO FOLLOW THEIR VIDEOS. BEAUTY YOUTUBERS AND BLOGGERS IN ASIA, INCLUDING CHINA AND JAPAN, ARE ALSO ATTRACTING LOCAL CONSUMERS BY PROVIDING INFORMATION ON K-BEAUTY, INCLUDING KOREAN STYLE MAKEUP, COSMETIC REVIEWS, AND HOLLYWOOD STARS STAGE MAKEUP.

Pony Syndrome

CURRENTLY, PONY HAS THE LARGEST NUMBER OF SUBSCRIBERS IN KOREA. PONY SYNDROME, A YOUTUBE CHANNEL RUN BY PONY, HAS 5.39 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS. PONY HAS A LOT OF LOVE IN KOREA AND ABROAD FOR HER MAKEUP SKILLS AND CLEAN VIDEO STYLE. THE MOST POPULAR VIDEO SHE HAS IS HER TAYLOR SWIFT TRANSFORMATION, WHERE SHE USES MAKEUP TO ALTER HER APPEARANCE TO RESEMBLE TAYLOR SWIFT, THIS VIDEO HAS 21 MILLION VIEWS.

PONY'S YOUTUBE CHANNEL WITH THE MOST SUBSCRIBERS / SOURCE: YOUTUBE CHANNEL PONY SYNDROME

Risabae

IN ADDITION, RISABAE A FORMER MEMBER OF A SPECIAL MAKEUP TEAM AT A BROADCASTING STATION THAT GAINED FAME FOR HER SPECIAL MAKEUP, IS INTRODUCING K-VIEW TRENDS TO THE WORLD, FEATURING COSPLAY MAKEUP AND MALE IDOL MAKEUP (2.23 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS), AND DADDOA, WHO ARE FLUENT IN FOREIGN LANGUAGES SUCH AS ENGLISH, JAPANESE AND CHINESE.

Why do we love K Beauty? WESTERNERS AND ASIANS PREFER DIFFERENT MAKEUP STYLES. JAPANESE AND KOREAN LIKE DIFFERENT STYLES, TOO. WHY IS THE WORLD ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT K-BEAUTY EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE DIFFERENT BODY TYPES, SKIN TYPES, AND CULTURES? BEAUTY TRENDS CHANGE RAPIDLY IN KOREA. COMPARED TO BRANDS IN THE U.S., EUROPE, AND JAPA. KOREA IS INTRODUCING A VARIETY OF PRODUCTS AT A FASTER PACE. IT ADDS INTERESTING IDEAS AND MARKETING. MANY NEW PRODUCTS THAT REFLECT CONSUMERS' UNIQUE TASTES, SUCH AS FUNCTIONALITY, ORGANIC PRODUCTS, AND HERBAL MEDICINE, AND THEY HAVE GOOD PRICE/EFFECTIVENESS. THAT'S WHY. THERE IS EVEN A SAYING AMONG GLOBAL COSMETICS MARKETERS AND RESEARCHERS"IF YOU WANT TO KNOW THE LATEST BEAUTY TREND, GO TO KOREA." THOSE WHO ARE NOT INTO K-BEAUTY CITE NATURAL BUT MOISTURIZING SKIN EXPRESSIONS, VARIOUS EXPRESSIONS TAILORED TO THEIR CHARACTERISTICS AND YOUNG-LOOKING MAKEUP AS THEIR CHARM. THE INFLUENCE OF K-POP STARS IS ALSO IMPORTANT IN THIS TREND. THE K-BEAUTY CRAZE STARTED BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO IMITATE THEIR MAKEUP AND FASHION.  K-BEAUTY IS EXPANDING ITS INFLUENCE NOT ONLY IN CHINA, THE U.S., CANADA, AND JAPAN BUT ALSO IN EUROPEAN MARKETS SUCH AS FRANCE AND BRITAIN. WHAT'S INTERESTING IS THAT THE MAIN CONSUMERS OF K-BEAUTY ARE ACTIVELY USING SNS. IF STRATEGIC MARKETING CENTERED ON SNS IS SUPPORTED IN THE FUTURE, I HOPE THE KOREAN WAVE WILL BECOME MORE POPULAR.
