Adventurists have long traveled with purpose and good will. Fortunately, creating global impact and sustainable connections across the globe is becoming increasingly easier. AmericaShare, the philanthropic arm of Micato Safaris, gives travelers a deeper understanding and appreciation of Africa. For more than 30 years, Micato-AmericaShare has worked to improve the lives of those in Nairobi’s Mukuru slum, a grossly impoverished neighborhood. Its main efforts are to provide children with a quality education in carefully vetted schools and equip other community members with basic educational and career-building resources—the manifestation of AmericaShare’s belief that “education is the most lastingly effective way to erode the cycle of poverty.” With each safari sold, Micato-AmericaShare sends a child to school.
