SO-CHA (ongoing project)

So-Cha is tea product from the northern Thailand. As believing in building good relationship by drinking tea, the brand is named by combining the words “society” and “cha (tea)” together.

My role is to create a strong branding identity which can communicate tea society and the origin of the product.

Logo: Using the shape of “S” from “society” to form the symbol of relationship and circle

Logo type: Applied from Bariol typeface, I add Lanna Thai elements to the end of each letters to emphasis the origin.

Texture/ pattern/ colour: So-cha is made from the first tea leaves, therefore the quality is at its best, targeting in premium quality. The colours and patterns has to reflect this quality properly. I chose golden and purple as for original taste colours. By making the look and feel of Lanna Thai bolder, I adapted the pattern of local textile to the packaging.

RoboFold: Website (ongoing project)

RoboFold is where art, design and architecture meets. They focus on the making process, from folding paper by hand to building up beautiful sheet metal by robots. As said by the founder, it looks like magic, it is so simple, yet hard to understand how it works. We try to find many solution to tell the story of RoboFold and end up with the simple way by using the O from logo as a passage. We create a video that is connected to the website.

The interface of this website is simple, as we have three menus (from three “O), users can scroll along horizontally to get the idea of the main content; gallery, make, robots.

The look and feel is also simple, by using black and white for graphic elements, making product images stand out, and blend with the interface environment in the same time.

Responsibility: Conceptual Design, Art Direction, Website/ interactive/ interface design, Front-end development (basic HTML, CSS)

It is very important that the company portrays a certain gravitas in order to inspire confidence in the investor. Therefore the client wants to be modern and simplistic in the way that present their properties but portray class at all times.

Identity: As the meaning of Fal, good luck charm, this design is inspired by one of the most valuable gemstone, diamond. Using 3 main pieces from the top view, I combined them together, then transform the symbol into perspective view. BubbleBee (www.mybubblebee.co.uk)

BubbleBee is a cloud back up service with a twist. Unlike the others, Bubblebee comes up with the special, fun and friendly features. Their target audeince is young generation who needs more convenient, friendly yet trustable space to contain their data.

Identity: My design is inspired by the word “bubble” and “bee”. By combining their characteristics, I create a new interesting and meaningful shape with yellow and black colour.

Web design: I’ve researched on the other cloud backup service websites and seen almost all technical and robotic like. As our logo is really friendly and playful, I’d like to elaborate this feeling into website by using 3D technique with paper fold / origami to tell the stories. This will engage and attract users to read the numeral and technical information and it will represent BubbleBee a unique, friendly, playful, wacky, fun but tangible service.

MA Major Project : True Self

We are all living in both offline and online world. Social standards are set up to control our perceptions and thoughts in morality. This is the reasons why people keep their secret and try to wear a beautiful mask facing public. In online social network, we live in the same way, and sometimes, it is even more public widely that cause more pretending behaviour, confusion and separation in our mind. The purpose of this website is to help people facing their truth by writing the reflection through online tools. And when the time comes, the truth will be told to someone they love or want to share their secrets with. It will be better if they can face the truth when they are still alive but if they can not, they will have a chance to tell the important person about their truths and their understanding in life.

Sugarchess

Brief: The client wants to launch their leather products under the brand called “sugarchess” which come from their concept “as sweet as sugar, as practical as chess”. The brand will introduce gadget accessories first, before they expand the product length into bags & shoes.

Aim: Started with the meaning of the brand, I came up with the idea of the chess movements. I developed the idea by using different ornaments which also reflect the shape of sugar crystal.

Sun Development

Brief: The client came up with the concept illustration for the logo of his new company. Using the word “Sun from his name as building blocks to tell the role of his architectural development organization.

Aim: The concept and idea from the client is really clear and direct to the point. My aim is try to develop it more further by simplifying and adding more depth to the logo to be seen as more innovative and professional architectural company.

Herntai Resort

The customer can enjoy natural view, Tai-yai lifestyle and activities on the rice field. Herntai has its original logo but the client wanted it to be more modern and simple but still remain the characteristic of nature and nothern thai culture.

Xmas Project 2012

For this festive season, I would like to send happiness to my love ones. By designing this, I used the letters, m, e, r, and y, to create patterns for cards, gift box and wrapping paper.

Typographic Hierrachy

Brief: Experiment on the hierrachy of poster’s content; The visible word - a one day conference, by using a copy machine and cut & paste technique. Using the same technique to produce a folding poster as the final outcome.

Aim: Focus on hiding non-focused information as the meaning of the conference’s title, I played with the readability of the words. Using diagonal axis to organize the long list of speakers’ names and be the folding line at the same time. The poster can be opened quickly to convey just an important message inside.

LockMagic

Brief: LockMagic is an internet security application. It is a seamless, simple and easy to use. The original catalog was designed long time ago. With long, technical text, the end user did not have an interest to finish it. The client request is to rebranding, change the mood and tone of the catalog by remaining the original logo.

Aim: To rebrand and revitalise the catalog, I use bright solid colour on white background to make a clear cut of text and images. Infographics are used to describe product information instead of the long boring original text. Though the original logo looks out of date, the client required it could not be touched. Therefore, I tried to make my design to not too different with the tone of the logo, yet can see the major change of the brand. The aim is to convey the message of professional, contemporary and tech-savvy to the end users.

Graphic Design & Architecture

Brief 01: Create an arrow as a signage to point direction

Aim: I choose outdoor space to create a playful big scale signage. By using slim metal sheet that can be bended, people can interact with it. And the sound can be created when it is blew by the wind.

Brief 02: Visit the V&A. Identify an architectural feature; such as a doorway, a stair, a ramp, etc., that makes a transition from one part of a building to another. Make a scale drawing or scale model of it. Design a sign, which has the potential for reproduction in similar situations, which communicates information about the two spaces and their functions.

Aim: The space between the main corridor (axis from V&A shop) and cafe is cutted off by the garden and the big pond. As the cafe itself contains a beautiful and historic dining room. I want it to be noticed by using the essential of the pond by designing signage as stepping stone to allow users’ interaction, and at the same time, acknowledge the information of the historical dining room.
