19TH OF JANUARY 2013 THE ORIGINAL TIIMIAKATEMIA JYVÄSKYLÄ CELEBRATED IT’S 20TH ANNIVERSARY IN FINLAND.
2013 is the year of new Team Academies What if education was really about the learner, not the teacher. And being that, what if it was about the learning, real learning, which is always doing? As Humberto Maturana says: “All knowing is doing, all doing is knowing.”, shared Peter Senge in his congratulation speech to a 20-year-old Tiimiakatemia in a party of 800 friends from around the world.
TEAM MAINIO AT THE GALA
“Life is about our capacity to move to adjust, to be inspired by a dream, and bring other people into that, and basically co-create futures that we really care about. I cannot really see any way for our societes to go thru the changes they will inevitably need to go thru in the coming years in the relatively near future without a radical innovation, a radical shift in the educational institutions which are preparing
younger people to play the leadership roles in our society. I do think about Team Academy as a very particular embodiment of an idea that the world really needs.”, Senge envisioned. See the whole video from Peter Senge congratulating Tiimiakatemia at it’s 20th Anniversary: http://bit.ly/ TRmYK1

Tiimiakatemia Learning Network in action in 2013 The network of Tiimiakatemia is grown by active members and it’s spreading like a virus. A good virus.
7 COUNTRIES INVOLVED 33 TEAM MASTERY EDITIONS 600 TRAINED TEAM COACHES 6000 USERS OF THE METHOD We all are different but we all share the same passion and values. Tiimiakatemia Learning Network is a boundarless network, or should we say a community, that brings teampreneurship advocates and die-hard fans together and acts as a hub for shared projects and development. Also, the network provides info on teampreneurship learning methodology and helps in creating contacts to parties that are new to Tiimiakatemias. As a platform for shared activity and communication there operates also a cooperative named Tiimiakatemia Learning Network. Each network member can join to it either as an individual or a company member. The cooperative allows joint projects of multiple members with one juridicial organization, applying for external fundings or organizing community events and other similar activities.

In company Team Academy - CASE Poult The Poult Group is a leader in private label biscuit manufacturer in France, supplying medium and large grocery stores, superstores, hypermarkets and discount supermarkets. 800 people are employed by the Poult Group in France. The company has 5 factories in France and produce 330 millions of biscuit packs each year. The company has 20% market share in the french biscuits market.
Why we did it? For business :
Our market is mature and it’s difficult to grow in such context; we have to find alternative strategies for growth Our customers today are big we should find new customers to be less dependent
How we did it?
We launched a large communication plan in the company and asked for volonteers
Anybody could apply for teh program (line operators, engineers, experts, technicians, managers…)
We asked the right consultants to manage the process, meaning people with a large experience of the Team Academy pedagogy - the Nonaka process
We defined a sandbox for the projects: they should be (1) ambitious, (2) based on the company know-how, (3) respect our values, (4) increase the performance of the company
To assure the long term of the company, we should find new businesses and new sources of incomes
For the people:
It was important for us to provide new opportunities for our employees and challenge them
To have our people engaged, involved, commited, responsible for building their future as well as building the future of the company
We want to show to everybody that we are an innovative company, we want to make sure that our employees are proud of themselves and proud to work for Poult… we want to develop the entrepreneurial spirit in the Group
What we did?
We defined a 15 months learning process with 6 modules of 1.5 day seminars: (1) learning, (2) leadership, (3) customers and marketing, (4) innovation, (5) strategy and (6) assessment of the program
We built teams based on the Belbin test and have 26 people in 4 teams. The four projects that were created are: 1) how to assess the wellbeing of employees 2) customized biscuits for any kind of events (rock festival, wedding….) 3) have a new distribution channel of our biscuits (RHF) 4) how to increase the communication and the visibility of the company?
More info about the Poult project can be asked from Robert Collart, one of the in-company Team Coaches: firstname.lastname@example.org

10 guidelines for Team Entrepreneurs 1. TAKE THE INITIATIVE, SEARCH FOR INSTRUCTIONS. 2. LEARN TO MANAGE CHAOS. IT IS THE FIRST STEP IN YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS. 3. YOU ARE ALLOWED TO MAKE MISTAKES. YOU CAN LEARN FROM THEM. 4. FOCUS YOUR ENERGY ON SOLUTIONS, NOT ON WORRYING ABOUT PROBLEMS. 5. DO YOUR BEST AND SET YOUR GOALS HIGH. 6. SEE OPPORTUNITIES, NOT OBSTACLES. 7. DARE TO EXPERIMENT AND TO BE YOURSELF. 8. SMILE, ENJOY AND LEAP IN. 9. BE HUMBLE AND RECREATE YOUR SUCCESS AGAIN AND AGAIN. 10. RESPECT OTHERS AND MAKE USE OF THE EXPERIENCE ALREADY INSIDE TEAM ACADEMY, SO YOU DON’T END UP REINVENTING THE WHEEL.
