WORSHIP

VOTE ON NOMINATING COMMITTEE TODAY

24th Sunday after Pentecost Eleven o’clock

Sunday, November 11, 2012

PRELUDE

Ryan Corbitt

WESTMINSTER CHIME (Please prepare for worship.)

CALL TO WORSHIP

Dan Schumacher Come, all who are anxious or burdened. This is a time to experience good news. People: This is God’s house, and we can meet God here. We are brought together in the family of God. Leader: Come with expectancy and anticipation. God is present to greet you and change your life. People: We are here to remember the ministry of Jesus. We have come to be equipped for our ministry. Leader: In our eager waiting, there is fullness of joy. In our preparation for worship, we discover life. People: Unless God is the shaper of our lives, we live in vain. Unless we view our city as God’s own, there is emptiness here.

The congregation will vote on the creation of a Nominating Committee to seek out leaders to serve in 2013 after today’s worship. Pending approval, the following individuals have agreed to serve: Robyn Mosley, David Guion, Jessica Corbitt, Barbara Spain, and William Strollo.

THANK YOU Thank you to the 20-plus volunteers who shivered with warm smiles on the corner of Grove and Meadow on Election Day. We gave out hundreds of cups of coffee, cider, and hot chocolate to our neighbors. Thank you for representing us so well.

Leader:

HYMN #17; #54 in Chin; #400 in Karen “This is My Father’s World”………………………………..TERRA PATRIS

WELCOME TO GUESTS AND VISITORS

The youth team is currently seeking one male adult and one female adult to serve as mentors to specific youth. Mentors are paired with one teenager to serve as encouragers and friends. This intentional model of discipleship provides a wonderful opportunity to serve and make an investment in someone’s life. We ask that mentors make an effort to see, talk with, or do something with their mentee at least one time per month. Contact Kate Ayers, David Guion, or Julie Gaines if you are interested in serving.

TABERNACLE T-SHIRTS AVAILABLE Tabernacle T-shirts are available for purchase over the course of these next two weeks. Many of us will wear one during the Fan Feast and at various volunteer events in the year ahead. The youth group will often wear the T-shirts at retreats and/or summer camp. Purchase one for yourself or a friend. Cotton T-shirts are $10. Running Shirts are $15.

YOUTH MENTORS NEEDED

Cecil Gholston

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen

Also, we're featuring a new "Serve" page which will be updated continually. Let us know if your ministry team or community partner has something you'd like to promote. www.tbcrichmond.org

WOMEN'S FELLOWSHIP GROUP The Women’s Fellowship Group invites all females to join their weekly gatherings at 5:30 p.m. at Colonial Apartments. You are more than welcome to bring a friend or your children. We come from different backgrounds and/or cultures and have a lot to learn from one another. Our weekly gatherings often include cooking, eating, and fellowshipping together. Contact Leigh Anne at Zylstra@tbcrichmond.org for more information.

*CHILDREN AND YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: Today, any school-age child is invited to assist the Deacons as they collect offering. During the last verse of the offertory hymn, noted with an asterisk (*), children are invited to make their way to the front pew to stand in front of a Deacon during the last stanza of the invitation hymn. This Deacon will then guide the child step by step through the process of collecting the morning’s offering. When the choral doxology has ended, children and Deacons alike return to their seats with family members.
