a rc h i t ec t Mo or & A sso c i ate s bu i l de r C ro om C on st r uc t ion homeowners Thomas Pulpan and Steinar Paulsrud know design. They are meticulous about living a life dedicated to and celebrating deliberate design. In the business of beans, Pulpan and Paulsrud own more than twenty coffee shops in their native Oslo, Norway. They took the concept of coffee and made even this simple brewed commodity a designer drink at Kaffebrenneriet. While it may be tempting to liken them to the Starbucks of Norway, those who know their uncompromising taste and affinity for perfection might argue this would be as ridiculous as comparing Whole Foods Market to your local gourmet grocer. Champions of lightly roasted coffee, Pulpan and Paulsrud were looking for a coastal escape from their daily grind. Vero Beach offered them the perfect causal beach experience that is relatively accessible from their Norway residence. Raising twin nineyear-old daughters Julia and Emilia, this couple also appreciated the proximity to family Vero offers them. They found their beach house in John’s Island and began renovation immediately. We interviewed Architect Peter Moor and associate architect, Chris Baker, for design perspective from the drafting table and we became delightfully acquainted with 2,100 square feet of purposeful perfection.
