hudson natatorium, nyc

A city of such diverse character demands a natatorium that will continue to give New Yorkers the variation of experience which they seek in their daily lives. Upon visiting the Bubble Cave in Hudson Square, visitors will have the opportunity to experience a variety of environments surrounding the act of swimming and water in itself. There are 3 pools in this space. The Olympic Pool, the Phase Pool and the Aquactics Pool. In every part of the building the visitor is able to experience the threshold that they find themselves in, as well as being able to grasp in some sensory way the threshold of another person, so that while it is a relatively open space (cave), it is divided by different experiences (bubble) of water and the varied environments in which one may swim.
