Welcome from Wilbar Cattle Co. Welcome to the 23rd Annual Tools of the Trade Sale! We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking an interest in our breeding program. The 2017 calf crop represented in this sale is no doubt our most uniform and strongest offering to date. From moderating average birth weights to increasing weaning weights on one of the driest and hottest summers on record, it is a true testament to the strength of the cowherd behind this set of bulls and heifers. As our kids, Kylie and Owen, get older their interest in the cattle industry and the day to day operations of the ranch grow. They are both involved in just about every aspect of the day to day operations at Wilbar. From cow checks at calving to sorting pairs on horseback or health checks walking bull pens, they are a huge part of this operation. With this in mind, disposition in the cattle is huge and I think you’ll find that evident in the sale offering and cow herd. Our 2018 bull pen includes some exciting fresh genetics in Razor, Jack, Commando and Challenger. We’ve also continued to use the proven sires like Specialist, Speed, Lute and Contender. We strive to provide you a balance of choices between old and new, consistency and advancement. Overall, the Bryan, Tracey, Kylie & Owen bulls are consistent, high performing and attractive, backed by solid producing, structurally sound, functional cows. New for 2018 is the addition of a group of 2-year olds. We chose the youngest bulls of our potential sale group last year and held them over. We appreciate the appeal of aged virgin bulls and want to ensure we offer a quality set of bulls. These bulls are of the same quality, sire groups and breeding season as their contemporaries sold last year. Semen evaluations were conducted on these bulls last spring to ensure proper maturity and fertility at yearling age. We are excited about this offering and expanding it in the future. The commercial open replacement offering is very strong. The pens will be sorted into groups of 5 based on breed – straight Angus/ Red Angus or F1 Simm X Angus. We do not retain any heifers out of our commercial program – we offer them all to you on sale day! Carcass evaluation, scrotal measurements and current weights will be provided on sale day, or ahead of time upon request. If you are unable to attend the sale, internet viewing and bidding will be provided by DLMS. Be sure to register and log in before sale time. As always, contact us or any of our sale staff if we can be of assistance. We welcome your visit anytime. The opportunity to help you select your next herd bull or tour the cow herd is always appreciated! Please join us for coffee and viewing of the sale offering in the morning. Lunch will be served at 11:30 am and the sale will start at 1:00 pm. Thank you for your continued interest, confidence and support in our program! See you on March 14th! Bryan, Tracey, Kylie & Owen

Welcome to the 23rd Annual Tools of the Trade Angus Bull and Female Sale at Wilbar Farm, east of Dundurn. Over the past twentythree years, the Willms Family have maintained a tradition of presenting an exciting lineup of breeding stock for the livestock industry. Now with Bryan and Tracey’s children involved, they are in the fourth generation of passionately breeding and raising Angus livestock. The powerful offering is headlined by seventy-five bulls, both yearlings and twos, red and black. Rugged, uniform with lots of hair and plenty of testicle, there are wonderful opportunities that will fit any type of breeding operation whether you are looking for a power bull to add pounds at weaning or a sleep easy heifer bull. The fancy dozen registered females come with plenty of high maternal credentials and will fit any program that needs front pasture females. The commercial lineup is an ideal opportunity to add proven quality to your replacement pastures. The livestock industry is in great shape as quality stockers yielded a premium again this past fall…but to get that extra premium, it takes quality sires…“Tools of the Trade” are here to supply the proper equipment to work your pastures. Feel free to stop by Wilbar for a preview of the offering and their mothers or give any of the Wilbar clan a call as they would be pleased to discuss and suggest ideas for your breeding requirements.
