SOUTHLAND CHAROLAIS & ANGUS BULL SALE

Page 1

SOUTHL A ND ANGUS • CHAROLAIS

Friday March 6, 2026 ▪ 1:00 pm

Heartland Livestock, Swift Current, SK

On behalf of my family, I would like to invite everyone to the Southland Bull Sale. The lineup of bulls packs a punch, and every animal is backed by as much information as we could gather. All bulls are genomically tested to enhance breeding predictability. As well, they are all parent verified because we understand the importance of pedigrees and cow families. All measurable weights and carcass ultrasound data has been gathered so anyone interested in purchasing a bull can make a very informed decision. Our approach to breeding cattle always has always been, and will always be about balance. And, I believe that is well reflected in our bull pen.

What a wonderful time for all of us to be in the greatest industry on earth, and given the current state of the North American cow herd, it looks promising for years to come.

Join us March 6 for good food, good folks, good bulls, and good times!

Directions to the farm:

1 km North of Shaunavon, SK on the East side of Hwy 37. At the Southland sign. Or, scan the QR code for directions

Bulls will begin arriving at Heartland Livestock in the afternoon of Thursday, March 5. Join us for lunch at noon before the sale.

From the desk at T Bar C...

Welcome to the Southland Angus & Charolais Bull Sale, proudly hosted by Shane and Lexi Cadieux and family. We are excited to welcome you and appreciate your interest in this progressive and forward-thinking program.

This offering features a powerful lineup of Red and Black Angus, along with an impressive set of Charolais bulls. The Cadieux family continues to invest heavily in the future, utilizing AI services and embryo transfer to enhance the quality and consistency of the cattle they bring to you. Their program searches across North America for fresh, proven genetics that combine high calving ease, added performance, and desirable carcass traits.

The result is a set of bulls that sire calves born easy yet deliver added value—whether you market your calves in the fall or retain ownership all the way through to the packer.

This year’s Black Angus bulls feature an exciting group of sons by Clarity, known for their impressive spread from birth to yearling. You will also find standout individuals sired by Deadwood, Fundraiser, and Hitman—bulls that are sure to catch your eye on sale day.

The Red Angus division may be smaller in numbers, but it is big on quality, offering deep-bodied, sound, and functional bulls built for real-world production.

The Charolais division is as impressive as ever, highlighted by calving-ease sons of Bold Move. These bulls excel in calving ease without sacrificing performance and will compete with the top end of the pen. Also featured is an exciting Padra son that is sure to make many friends on sale day.

We encourage you to study the offering and visit with confidence. Shane, Lexi, and family have put together a set of bulls that reflect their commitment to progress, quality, and customer success. We hope that you can join us in Swift Current on sale day to view and buy this set of bulls in person. However, if you are unable to, as always feel free to call any of us on the T Bar Team as we know this program well and would be more than happy to assist you in anyway possible.

CONNEALY CLARITY

Sire: EB CLARITY 223C C8251 SITZ EPPONIA 223C

• Out of our incredible donor cow Southland Lady 23K.

• 1N offers very flexible breeding for any program.

• Can be used on heifers, or put on cows without sacrifice to the bottom line.

• He offers great carcass merit and will be a female maker that will impact your herd for generations.

• The maternal embryo calves on the ground now will definitely be feature animals in next year’s sale.

SOUTHLAND NIGHT SHIFT 2N

• A member of our class winning pen at the Medicine Hat Pen Show.

• Dam is the type of cow you want standing by the highway.

• Lot 2 is the type of bull that will slick off in the summer and grow incredible hair in the winter.

• He stands with a lot of base width and is a stout made bull with great eye appeal.

40M - Maternal sister

SOUTHLAND EVOLUTION 3N

Sire:

Evolution reads on paper like he should really be something...and it turns out he is! He’s the calving ease, high growth, easy doing, good natured bull we are all looking for. A maternal brother to our great donor cow Southland Lady 23K. His maternal strength might just be his strong suit.

The icing on the cake is his carcass predictions. At the time of writing this we have not gotten the results of our ultrasound data, but looking at the screen at what’s under his hide, expect some big ribeye & marbling announcements from us!

Retaining 1/3 semen interest

SOUTHLAND MILESTONE 12N

An outcross bull with phenotype. Born unassissted out of a tremendous Free Ride 2 yr. old. This bull was strictly going to be used in our herd because of his feet, muscle, fleshing ability, dam, and disposition. His genomic predictions did not indicate the tremendous growth and incredible carcass qualities that we saw on the ultrasound screen. A true outlier bull who combines unlikely genetic combinations. Milestone’s story is just beginning.

Sells with 40 units of owner’s use semen.

Retaining 50% semen interest.

23K - Maternal sister to Lot 3 & dam to Lot 1

What a tremendous flush out of the high selling cow at the Black Meadows Dispersal. 506C gave us 22 embryos with over 80% conception to date, and she bred back for a January calf. There are 4 replacement heifers at home all of which are at the top of the group. This is the most consistent flush ever done at Southland with the icing on the cake being Lot 5 winning his class at Agribition and being a member of a class winning pen at the Medicine Hat Pen Show. And, as always, look to the Deadwoods for unprecidented carcass quality.

A bull with a pedigree that can virtually be bred to any cow in the Canadian herd book. The Canadian aspect of his pedigree is arguably the most prolific cow family in the nation. The Merit Flora cow family ensures that not only will this guy leave daughters, but also will have the performance the industry demands. All that pedigree, phenotype, and cow family... now look at his numbers. Tremendous opportunity here!

One of my favourite bulls in the offering. Dam is a flush mate to the dam of Lot 19. Unfortunately, we lost 107N’s dam to lightning this summer. He was orphaned, but made up for things once he hit feed. Outcross pedigree for the Canadian herd book and he’s out of a Flora. Truly a herd bull here.

SOUTHLAND CHICAGO 108N

Well here’s a bull that started quite a stir on social media. Just a Feb. 10th calf and truly one of the studs of the pen. The soft, deep bodied look 108N has is typical of the Hitman cattle. The unique part of this bull is that he is a power bull with a 67 lbs BW. We plan on using him heavily here at Southland on heifers and cows of every age. He will fix numbers, structure, feet, udders, and basically any issue that may exist. I believe greatly in this bull and am proud to offer him for sale.

A maternal brother to our high selling bull last year to Tullamore Angus. A very eye appealing, fluffy bull with tons of bone. His dam has developed into a very productive bull producer, and is on her way to the donor pen this spring. The Fundraiser bulls have tremendous growth and are the type to raise powerful steers.

These 4 John Wick sons are the result of a pooled IVF flush of three full sisters. All three donors are maternal sisters to Lot 43, 132N. These similarily patterned brothers have really taken off and are really coming into their own. They are all later February or March 1st calves. They have a lot of eye appeal and will make great breeding bulls.

SIX MILE & CO GLORIA 29A RED DUFF RED BEAR 18154

RED SOUTHLAND HENNESSY 132N

What a tremendous calf for a Feb. 25th. Wilbar Hennessy needs no introduction to the Red Angus world as he was Agribition Supreme Champion bull in 2024. 132N is a natural calf out of our donor cow 40H. He has a good set of numbers, but also will bring marbling to the table, with a top 4% IMF. The only reason we are not retaining an interest in 132N is that either maternally or paternally he is related to everything in our herd. Don’t miss out on this herd bull!

Hennessy - Sire

SOUTHLAND BOLD MOVE 8N

A unique pedigreed bull with a tremendous set of numbers. Born unassissted out of a very productive, nice uddered, good footed 2 yr. old dam. We thought long & hard about keeping this bull, but ultimately, in the end, we decided to hold nothing back. Truly, one of my favourite calves since day one. It’s worth the drive to see this bull as he has changed a lot since picture day.

SOUTHLAND AMPLIFY 17N

A tremendous bull who possesses a clean, sharp look while maintaining a soft thick body with tremendous rib shape. He has a unique pedigree backed by a powerful, beautifully uddered cow. Amplify has a strong foot and moves out extremely free. He has a great disposition, and we will be using him heavily in our program as he has already put up semen at 12 months of age.

Retaining 50% semen interest

Southland would be willing to show Amplify through the 2027 season if agreed upon by the new owner.
