The selection process has been relentless on quality and pedigree for this year’s sale. Many miles have been travelled assembling this offering of the six breeds represented. The largest portion of the sale annually is the calendar year heifer calves. Many jaw dropping heifers that have that look and pedigree we all desire. Many graduates of this sale have gone on to be highly successful at their respective junior events and as far as their national levels, so please glance closely at these foundation females. The bred heifers consigned this year are truly the breed leading kind. Bred to the who’s who of pedigreed sires, the ROI is high on this elite group. New for this year, we have a couple of young cow/calf pairs in the offering. Directly from the heart of their respective herds, these are the kind of females that fast forward your program ahead. Another sale feature is the herd bulls on offer. We’ve made sure they have checked off all the boxes and credentials to be influential herd sires. To round out the offering, we have some very special frozen genetic lots that are very interesting and would make an excellent impact on your program moving forward. As always, the Royal carries so much history and is an event not to be missed. We truly believe this offering speaks for itself and we are honored to conduct and represent the breeders involved. Every November that chilly Toronto air is addictive to purebred cattle, so make sure you are on the Saturday night for this annual classy event. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call. Sale Management: Box 2330 Best regards, Warman, SK S0K 4S0 306-933-4200

Offering the Entire Show String

Black angus - Gilchrist Farms, Brad & Kristie Gilchrist, Lucknow, ON

We are thrilled to offer you a very unique sale opportunity at the 2018 Royal Winter fair. We are not only selling you our best calf or best bred heifer, we are offering for sale our entire show string that will be exhibited by us at the RAWF. We have been very fortunate to have been awarded either the Premier Breeder or Exhibitor every year since 2013 at the Royal and the quality of our string runs as deep and strong as it ever has for 2018. We take pride in offering calves and bred heifers right off the top of the pen and enjoy watching the new owners campaign them the following year or their progeny for years to come. An opportunity like this doesn’t happen often and what better way to select from the elite of the elite then purchase cattle we feel will be competitive at one of Canada’s most prestigious shows.

Snipes was one of the most talked about bull calves to hit the show road last season, capturing Royal Junior Calf Champion and Agribition Reserve Calf Champion. Impeccable design, plenty of thickness, with more than enough muscle. With his low BW and balanced EPDs, he can be used in the heifer pen along with your top cows. Until next spring, you can stand behind him at the backdrop. Scrotal circumference was 37 cm in May.

Rosebud 4E is a fancy, moderate framed heifer with lots of width over her top, carrying a lot of capacity, being very deep ribbed, yet walking on a great set of feet and legs. She has been shown very successfully by Tullamore, placing second in her class as a calf at the 2017 Royal Winter Fair. Her dam by Image Maker 0415 has a perfect udder and is one of the top cows for Brockhill Farm. Sired by Connealy Impression, Rosebud 4E has a pedigree that is hard to beat and is going to become a top producing, front pasture cow. AI bred to Musgrave 316 Stunner on May 16, 2018. Pasture exposed to SCC Bullseye 2E from June 4 to September 1, 2018. SCC Bullseye 2E is the junior herdsire at Tullamore who was Grand Champion Bull at Schomberg and Junior Champion Bull at Peterborough this year.

Black angus - Justamere Farms Ltd., Jon & Shelley Fox, Lloydminster, SK

We are excited to be bringing a tremendous, well bred, fancy female to Toronto for the show this year. In our books this is the right kind of female; very sound and athletic, excellent angularity and feminity, deep bodied, straight in her lines with the look, hair and dimension to be a real contender at any show. S&R Round Table is a sire of champions and high sellers for Express Ranches and many of the breed’s great operations. EXAR Penny 4744 is the Dameron First Class donor dam and she is exceptional. The flush mate to this heifer was a $45,000.00 top seller in the Big Event 2017 at Express. Come by the Justamere stall at the Royal and check this beauty out. She is entered at Louisville and we are headed that way after the Royal, if the new owner desires her to go. We love her type and kind and are very humbled to be able to offer in this prestigious event.

Again we are offering an elite bred heifer to the Royal Sale. Kristina 62E should be as popular as previous consignments in the sale. This heifer would be one of our keepers, but we like to offer elite Angus genetics in this sale. Her dam, 43Z has been a very productive cow since we purchased her as a yearling from Young Dale Angus, with progeny at Gilchrist Farms, Robert and Sandra Smith’s, herdsire for Kelvin Mundle and now this heifer. Kristina 62E has a very balanced EPD spread, maintaing top 6% for weaning and top 9% for yearling. This heifer has a unique, straight Canadian pedigree while maintaining these nice EPDs. A very stout heifer with a very feminine front end. We are confident that she will be a great addition to anyone’s program. The exciting AI service to Top Shelf should bring calving ease, as well excellent growth and added value to the calf. AI bred to Ellingson Top Shelf 5050 on May 15, 2018.

Black angus - Premier Livestock, Peter Frijters, Milverton, ON

Here’s a very special young heifer calf! She is as fancy as they come, yet possesses all the things that make cattle practical. She is deeper sided than any of her peers, yet very fancy out through her front one third. When Bill and Sylvia Jackson showed this heifer’s dam in 2014, we knew right away she was one we wanted to own. After a successful show year and being named Ontario Show Female of the Year, we were able to purchase her at the prestigious Masterpiece Sale at Agribition. Her sire is making some of the most competitive show heifers in North America. This heifer’s first trip to town was to the Ontario Gold Show where she was first in her class. She has a great temperament and a look that will get noticed.

Here are two maternal sisters out of our foundation Shakura 4Y donor dam. Both heifers come from the top of our 2018 show string and have had a very successful show season. Other maternal sisters have included a high selling bred heifer to Alkalai Lake Angus in Alberta, who raised a $21,000 bull calf as a two year old, a high selling heifer calf to Maple View Angus last fall who has been Supreme Champion three times this year for 4-H member, Mitch McCrady and some exciting ET heifer calves that have been born this spring at Rock Creek Farms, Martinvale Angus and Double H Cattle Company. Here is an ET daughter sired by Mohnen South Dakota that has the style and look to compete in the show ring with enough middle and natural thickness to still turn into a very productive cow. 801F has been a class winner at all three Ontario Angus Point Shows this summer.

If your planning on competing with the Elite in the 2019 show ring, then put Elite in your show string! Here’s a chance to have a rare combination of next generation genetics that produce sale and show winners. FLC Bardetta 613F was shown alongside her gorgeously uddered, two year old Insight dam this year and they never missed a champion drive all season. The grand dam of FLC 613F is closing in on $100,000.00 in progeny sales; full siblings to her have been sold in the past for $22,000.00, $18,000.00, and $8,000.00 and a maternal bull sibling sold for $42,500.00 to Ramrod Cattle Co. If the sale numbers and genetics of this show ring sweetheart have peaked your interest, also keep in mind... this is the first and only heifer offered for sale in Canada this year sired by the showy WWSC Slider! This stylish heifer has the whole package! Angular frame with clean lines, tidy front, a super feminine top line with a tail head that pops. Talk about an exceptional project for the show string in 2019. She will become a cow to strengthen any herd down the line. She is going to compete in the show ring and in the donor pen for whoever takes her home. The dam of this heifer was the high selling Lot 1 feature from Rehorst Farms at the 2016 Autumn Angus Classic. She has been a front field fixture at Otter Creek Farms ever since, and it has been fantastic to have this pair around this year. The sire, Colburn Primo 5153 needs no introduction, as he has sired many top showing heifers working the rings this year. Verdict is an impressive individual who balances up from all angles. When you analyze the bull’s phenotype you cant help but be impressed by his overall length of spine, thickness throughout, shape and dimension to his lower quarter and his ability to put this mass in a smooth attractive package. We exhibited this bull successfully earlier this year in Houston, Texas where he was named Reserve Senior Champion Bull and most recently in Ontario at the provincial show in Brampton where he was Senior Champion. What is the most impressive though is his ability to combine this phenotype with an impressive set of EPDs that will improve a herd and move your next calf crop into elite status.

She has a fabulous daughter at Meadow Bridge, two daughters are retained at JL and three other sale bulls averaging in excess of $7000 per nose. Her past embryo sales are overwhelming and have been accessed by some of the top programs on the continent. S A V Renown and S A V Sensation are living up to all the hype as was expected of them . Renown sires the pound crushing kind that have been topping sales across the country in popular style, Sensation s first crop have been the maternal kind that have a desired look we all crave for. Both make for a unique cross that will be in high demand and become the kind you’ll hate to part with.

Two (2) Packages of Three (3) Embryos Stemming from the famous Evening Tinge cow family comes this prolific donor type female. She is a direct daughter of the legendary 57R female herself who literally could write a 100 page novel of past progeny and success stories. Interesting to note 57R herself who is now deceased has sold over 42 embryos through public auction. These 42 embryos have averaged $2,183 per over a 10 year span. She currently lists 63 direct progeny in the CAA herdbook and we believe this S A V Potential daughter is among her best. She has a beautiful daughter working at Otter Creek and two other dandies retained in our herd. Mated to one of the most popular bulls on the planet in S A V President 6847, the resulting progeny will be more than in demand crossed with the nationally known Evening Tinges.

Truly sacred to the Rehorst program is this Evening Tinge 3618 cow. Never before have we released any genetics from this past $22,000 high selling Johnson Livestock female. Her full sister, JL 2280 has been on a production yard like 3618. She has sold eight direct progeny within the last two years averaging $8,750 per. We think the world of 3618 and firmly believe she is the next chapter to continue the 57R tradition and novel writing. Being sired by the maternal giant Eliminator ensures her udder quality, foot structure and gentle temperament. How can we not mention 57R’s legacy... 63 direct progeny listed in the CAA herdbook, 42 embryos sold worldwide, last 10 direct progeny averaging over $15,000 per, grand dam to the coveted lot 1 in Gilchrist upcoming sale, just to mention a few. 3618 ship structure, big belly, excellent feet and production record are just a few reasons we have retained everything she has done in our herd to write her own novel in the upcoming years ahead. Elite genetics mated to the 4136 son President will only enhance this situation... many have noted that 3618 is 57R’s best effort ever, a big statement that she truly can handle.

Two (2) Packages of Three (3) Embryos JL Barbara was the $24,000 sensation of the 2017 fall female sale run. This beautifully designed Density daughter is easy on the eyes and has an udder you couldn’t personally make any better. The Barbara cow family stems back to the nucleus that has been the solid foundation of the well known North Perth program. Recently at this year’s past AAC Sale, a Barbara female stemming all the way back to the same original Barbara cow herself was a $20,000 high seller to Merit Cattle Co. Currently Barbara is raising a big stout impressive bull calf that will be offer come spring 2019. Mated to Musgrave Stunner who has become one of the most popular breeding options to come on to the scene in some time. His outcross pedigree, phenomenal EPD chart and overall look will only result in progeny that will be demanded for. Stunner crossed with this epic Density daughter excites us to no end and we are proud to offer these to the industry.

Diamond T Bardolia 1441 is going to be one of the more talked about young donors in the next few years. She burst onto the scene at Farmfair in 2016 as the Reserve Champion Female. Her first progeny have included a $10,000 heifer to Nielsen Land & Cattle, a bull sale feature to Peak Ranching and an exciting flush to TSN Angus. Now, the matings with S A V Renovation and Justamere M.A.G.A are sure to impress with massive potential for performance, style and maternal prowess. This will be your chance to enhance the udder quality, maternal makeup, structural integrity and phenotypic design of your cowherd for years to come. Choice of Flush Mates 1F & 3F

This year we have decided to offer the choice of flush mates out of Wyatt’s Grace cow. Grace was Supreme Champion Bred and Owned at Bonanza 2014 in Lindsay, Ontario as a yearling and went on to win a few shows as a two year old, most notability Champion Female at the 2016 Heritage Beef Classic Show. She is a moderate framed, beautiful, young cow. We made the decision to flush her to Hometown and have not been disappointed. These calves show the quality of their mother and we are confident in their ability to produce. If Wyatt had his way, both heifers would be getting back on the trailer and put into production in our herd.

With her length and rib shape, natural thickness, strong top line and clean neck, it’s hard to find fault with her. Her dark red colour and eye pigment just add to make her a complete package. Fantasy is out of our two most prominent cow families, the Ruth 45R and Patricia 89P lines. We don’t let many females go from these cow lines. On the top of her pedigree you’ll find Elm-Lodge 25G Tiara 4T, a cow that has produced some top-selling heifers for them. Fantasy will be one that you’ll want to have in your front pasture. She is exactly what we expect from him and combined with the maternal power from RSK 23S, she will mother tremendous offspring. She has had a great show career to date, including Canadian Junior National Champion and Manitoba Livestock Champion, as well as numerous class winners! Progeny from Miss Sage 64Y have all been modeled after her, so much middle and capacity, cherry red and goggled to boot. Her progeny have been highlighted in many of our sales throughout the years and have commanded a premium. This mating with Truman will be more than amazing as I believe this will be one of the coolest matings that we have ever had to Miss Sage 64Y.

Othbergs Whisper Grand Dam

limousin - Balamore Farm Ltd., Joe & Carolyn Cooper; William Cooper, Great Village, NS

This heifer is our first offering outside of our own Spring Sale, so we picked one of our best. She placed 3rd out of 25 heifer calves this summer at the Canadian Junior Limousin Impact Show and is improving with age. Her sire, Wulfs Springloaded, has sired some of our best cows with picture-perfect udders and has been used at Balamore on heifers successfully. A Springloaded bull calf was named bull calf champion and Reserve Bull Champion at the same show this summer. Her mother is a twoyear-old that traces back to TMF 602L on the top side and our Othberg 947W donor cow on the bottom side. We are very proud of this offering.

This showy, little, black February heifer comes from great stock. Her dam is a Wisteria Lane daughter and her sire is the 2012 Show Bull of the Year, Hollee’s Yucatan. She has a beautiful front end with lots of depth and hair. Looks like her mom and acts like her dad! Fern has a great disposition and would make a wonderful 4-H project for someone or just add some fabulous genetics to your herd.

Lazy A Desire Me (Two Year Old) Dam

limousin - Hollee Limousin, Brian & Holli Lee, Janetville, ON; C/O with Lazy A Limousin

If you are looking for a heifer calf that is big hipped, wide topped, deep in the rib and eye appealing…this girl has it all!! She has power and performance from both top and bottom of her pedigree. She comes from a long line of consistent females that are broody, big framed and have excellent longevity. Her dam, Lazy A Desire Me has excelled in the show ring as a calf, bred heifer and now as a cow/calf pair. The pair’s showings include: - Reserve Grand Champion Female, Canadian Junior Limousin Show 2018, Great Village, NS - Grand Champion Female, Lindsay Ex. 2018, Lindsay, ON (Qualifies for Supreme 2018 Agribition) - Ontario Provincial Grand Champion Female with her dam, Markham Fair 2018, Markham, ON We believe this heifer will be an excellent addition to any breeding program, whether it’s the show ring or pasture. The sky is the limit for this heifer!

Here’s an opportunity to obtain a Canadian Impact daughter, early in his breeding life. Canadian Impact has caused a great deal of excitement in the Limousin breed and cattle industry. Not only is he a past high seller and very decorated champion but also breeding offspring that are highly accepted and admired in the show ring. His pedigree is leading edge, including Greenwood’s top donor, Wisteria Lane, sired by the “no miss” EXLR Total Impact. These daughters will be hard to find off the two time supreme champion. On the dam side, Codi gained a lot of attention at the 2016 Cattle Call Sale, where she was the high selling bred heifer. She has since dropped a perfect udder and her first calf was a standout bull. Codi traces back to some foundation females in the Payne Livestock herd. Derby progeny are making their mark as some of the most powerful females in the breed. This heifer calf has some of the most powerful maternal pedigrees to offer in the breed today. She could be the next great donor female in the breed! Great hip, feet and udder development! Make your own “Impact”, add her to your herd!

Fantasy comes from the most well known cow family in the herd. She is the natural daughter of our Zumba donor. Her maternal sister was 2015 Reserve National Champion and her sire was 2015 National Champion Bull and 2017 CLA Show Sire of the Year. A full sister was reserve in division at the Royal last fall and a maternal sister sold to Pinnacle View in the COA Sale. We also have a maternal brother in the show string who bred cows this spring at home. This April baby has a bright future ahead of her; she is exceptional in her structure and on the move with that cow power look already. We are excited to see what this girl will look like next November at the Royal, as the Limousin Breed celebrates its 50th Anniversary in Canada.

Her length, depth and moderate frame will work in any program! The Matchless family has done fantastic for Byrne Boys whom have purchased two sisters including a full sister last year! This family speaks for it’s self with having champion progeny all over the United States and Canada. Whether it’s a herd bull or donor female, 123 daughters can produce! JF Ebony’s Joy 401B (SOSF Ebony’s Joy L-123 X Mr HOC Broker) Flushed 22 viable embryo’s at the age 14 months to Mr TR Hammer 308A ET. Hammer is a world class leader himself with a unique pedigree, performance and phenotype. With rare spread of EPDs from birth to yearling Hammer is in the 10% of the breed. Use these embryos on heifers or cows with a peace of mind.

She is backed by the great grand dam, JF Ebonys Joy 709T. Look to this girl to produce daughters with ideal udders, easy fleshing ability and sons that will pound down the scales. Red Lady has been very popular and I have had many opportunities to consign her to many elite sales. Ben was very adamant about her being part of this year’s edition of the Royal Elite Sale. This young lady is very moderate in her frame size but phenotypically she is the kind of heifer we all strive to produce. Red Lady has a very high quality set of feet and legs and lots of rib shape. This heifer is very mellow to work with and has been a pleasure to campaign this show season. This calf is not the first daughter of Joy to be of this caliber, as she has maternal sisters at Labatte Simmentals and SIBL Simmentals. Weaning weight was 751 pounds on August 15, 2018. Sells open.

Ice Scream is one of those females that you don’t find every day. She is one of the most elite show heifers we have ever bred with a HOT pedigree to boot. Ice Scream is a rare individual that combines a calm demeanor, stellar profile with that extra extension through her skeleton, making her a standout in the show ring. This calf is tremendously deep bodied, which carries through her hindquarter and is explosive in her hip structure. She is sired by the illustrious, Captain Scream, who was crowned FarmFair and Agribition Champion Simmental Bull in 2017. After Captain Scream’s untimely death, his semen has been commanding record prices across the country. Ice Scream goes back to a productive Prowler female on the bottom side that is as clean fronted as they come. Her dam has yet to disappoint in terms of her phenotype and her progeny. Don’t miss your opportunity to scoop up this sweet little treat on sale day.

This year marks 25 years we have been breeding Simmentals. We don’t offer them very often, but when we do, we try to bring a good one to town. You will continue to see this pair turns heads on the show road. Flirt was Heifer Calf Champion at her first two shows, as a pair, they have twice been Supreme Champions. Flirt has power from the ground up, with that sweeping deep belly line, she is extremely sound and awesome in motion. Her dam and grand dam have both been class winners at the Royal, more importantly, highly productive in the pasture. The kind of momma cows that produce herd bulls.

6F is a striking female that catches your attention with her highly sought after blaze face. With a power packed pedigree, she is sired by my black baldy herd sire that was a Royal Class Winner as a calf (his maternal sister won the Junior Beef Heifer Show in 2014). On the bottom side, the elder Strathburn nails it every time producing an easy fleshing and attractive made type. An easy keeping brood cow in the making.

Here is your chance to get the first Bounty Hunter female to sell in Ontario and what a female she is! With length of body, sound structure and eye appeal, she fits the bill no matter what you’re looking for. She is backed by a solid pedigree on both sides that combines calving ease, performance and great maternal strength. Her grand dam was Reserve Grand Champion Female as a heifer calf at Expo Boeuf and now resides in Alberta. 4F herself has shown competitively this summer and would make an excellent junior project and front pasture female. Be sure to bid last on sale day, you don’t want to let this opportunity pass by!

Program versatility is the first thing that comes to mind with this heifer. Outcross pedigree on the bottom, sired by the ever-consistent Royal Red who continuously produces top end females. Maternal traits are very strong on both sides of the pedigree, her three year old dam has a well-balanced udder with nice teat size and placement. Her easy keeping thirteen year old grand dam is still in production and has been a personal favourite for many years. Faline is soft made and well balanced throughout, flowing nicely from a feminine front third into a powerful middle. Sound on the move, she is hard to hide on pasture tours. Top off this lady’s easy on the eyes look with a gentle disposition around even the youngest of showmen. She will make an excellent addition to anyone’s herd.

We are pleased to offer this bred heifer to the Royal sale. She is a granddaughter of a D Bar C female that we purchased out of the Garth Cutler dispersal, going back to the TNT Whoopie cow. A heifer that combines muscle, femininity and shape from end to end. Her service to Preferred Beef offers calving ease and time tested genetics. The vet’s opinion-she is carrying a heifer calf. One of the most consistent and profitable Simmental cows that we have purchased to date! Her first calf sold for $20,000 to Nothing Barred Ranch and her 2017 son sold for $17,000 to Sunny Valley Simmentals. Ms Crosby’s Captain Scream heifer calf is proof that this mating is simply spectacular. She is well made, deep bodied and stylish. When we acquired Sadie 505C as the high seller and lead off female from the Rust Mountain Sale a few years back, she met all our needs. She was Royally bred, had a huge foot underneath her and was superior in her rib shape, body capacity and skeleton structure. Her dam, TNT Miss Sadie, is responsible for many high sellers and brood cows in production and her crossed with the breed leading Captain Morgan has hit a homerun. Our belief in this female is testified by the number of embryos we implanted on her in 2018, over 20! The matings to both Rio Grande and Limitless should be very unique and rewarding, as they each offer a fresh pedigree and a lot of future to the industry. Look for this female to pass on that soft make to her progeny, structural correctness and overall balance. Calves will be homo polled by parentage.
