Welcome to Right Cross Ranch’s

2nd Annual Commercial Bred Heifer & Long Yearling Bull Sale Our family would like to welcome you to our 2nd Annual Commercial Bred Heifer Sale & Long Yearling Bull Sale. This year we’ve put together a group of commercial breds that’ll make any cattleman look twice! Jim had the opportunity last fall to hand pick a nice group of heifers and purchase them through TEAM. These operations were not keeping any back for replacements and we knew this was a perfect chance to get our hands on some Simi/Angus and straight Angus heifer calves for this year’s sale. These heifers were split into two groups blacks and reds/tans. The blacks were bred to one of our main calving ease herdsires, Brooking Grand Jury 2Z (Soo Line Motive 9016 son) and two of his sons. Talk about consistency! The reds/tans were bred to a Red Angus Mission son we raised and felt would calve easily. These females are due to calve the last week of March. Mid July we had the chance to purchase a unique set of 46 heifers through TEAM. These females were from Fred and Violet Lansdale from Leross, SK. They seemed too good to be true; thick bodied, good footed, feminine, and only weeks away from seeing a bull. We used the same black Motive sons to breed these heifers and they are due to calve the first week of May. This year we have 19 long yearling bulls on offer from our late Spring Right Cross Ranch calving cowherd. We have coasted these guys on a high protein, lower energy, PO Box 100 forage based ration to achieve what we feel is nice condition for long yearling Kisbey, SK S0C 1L0 bulls. These bulls can be purchased and we offer a winter feeding program ($4/ rightcrossranch@hotmail.com day) to continue raising your bull till the end of March. We’re proud of this group and as always the bulls are selected based on structure, bloodlines and the cows Sight Unseen Purchases: behind them. We would have no problem using any of these bulls in our own herd. Thank you for your continued support! If you have any questions or If you are interested in our bulls but can not attend the sale we would be happy to take your order. We will would like to view the bulls please give us a call or stop in anytime. have sale staff, auctioneers and special representatives Sincerely,

on hand to accommodate you. We ask that all bids be received in sufficient time prior to the sale.

T Bar....

Welcome to Right Cross Ranch’s 2nd annual Commercial Bred Heifer and Long Yearling Bull Sale on December 4 at the ranch, Kisbey, Saskatchewan. Jim and Sarah offer a powerful group of seedstock which will suit any livestock operation. The 19 Red and Black long yearling bulls come out of the younger part of the calf crop,as the large cowherd has forced the Andersons to spread out spring calving, so that it is more manageable for them. These coming twos have been slated for this sale…grass raised all summer and not picked over. They come to you with a wintering option and delivery. Buy your bull this fall and take possession next spring; save some tax dollars and have two-year-old bulls that can cover more cows and ground in the breeding season, complete with fresh new genetics to add value to your program. The hundred plus bred females are complete Angus influence (some with a little Simmie in them). High in quality, uniform and highly fertile, as they have been exposed 50 days to Angus bulls. They will be packaged for your convenience whether you are selecting five or fifty. Your hosts, Jim and Sarah Anderson are the hardest working couple I know…they run a very large ranching operation, in addition to raising two lovely youngsters. Stop by the ranch any time prior the sale for a preview and plan to be guests for a noon luncheon sale day. If we may be of assistance, prior to or sale day, feel free to contact any of the T Bar Team or myself, as we will help you in a professional manner.

Here’s a bull that’s been an eye catching guy since day one. He’s deep cherry red and has a similar shape and thickness to his sire, Son of Thor 315A. His mother is an El Senro daughter, has good feet and a perfect udder. The March storm did some damage to his ears but don’t miss your chance here on a good bull nonetheless.

“We’ve bought many bulls from Right Cross Ranch over the years and they fit nicely into our program. The two we purchased in last years December Long Yearling Bull sale were no different. We purchased the bulls sight unseen and we were very happy with how they looked when they got off the trailer; just enough condition but not too fat. They went right to work and bred at least 30 heifers a piece and held their condition perfectly. We’ll definitely be back to support this years sale!” Scott & Meagan Jeffery & Family, Drayton Valley, AB.

Commercial Bred Hiefers

Selling In Small Packages Suitable For Everyone Black & Red Angus, Simmental Cross Angus All Blacks are bred to Soo line Motive son and grandsons who specialize in calving ease! Any red heifers are bred to an east calving Red Angus bull. 90 heifers bred to start calving the end of March for 60 days and 40 heifers are bred to start calving the first week of May for 55 days. “The bred heifers we bought were from the red and black groups in Right Cross Ranch’s December 2016 sale. These heifers turned out very well; mothered up, took care of their calf and milked well. The calves hit the ground strong, vigorous and the right size. We are very happy with the calves we sold off these heifers this fall and the cows bred right up for spring calving next year.” Tyril Dayman, Arcola, SK

“We bought a dozen black and black white faced heifers from Right Cross Ranch last December and had tremendous luck with them. 11 out of 12 calves were born on their own, and most times you would walk out in the morning and calves would be born and up and sucking on their own. The calves were all perfect size for first time calvers. These heifers should fit perfectly with our cow herd. Only problem I had was, I DIDN”T BUY MORE!” Sheldon Wyatt, Coteau Ranch, Kisbey, SK

“The bred heifers I purchased from Right Cross Ranch in last December’s sale were a good group. Calving was like Jim and Sarah said, “bred to calving ease bulls.” I only lightly assisted one. In my books that’s pretty darn good for the winter we had and being first time calvers. Performance was there as well in the bred heifers. When the steers hit grass they gained the pounds. To have the steers weigh an average of 545 pounds in the first week of October and born last two weeks of March, that’s awesome for bred heifers. Thanks to Jim and Sarah for the good quality heifers!” Courtland Brown, Carlyle. SK
