The spring of 2013 saw Valerie and I make a trip Kansas to take in the Gardiner Spring Sale. I spent a good deal of time studying Lots 384 through 389, six full sisters out of Prophet’s mother G A R Objective 1885. They were magnificent females, commanding big money and selling dollar-wise as I had ranked them. Spring of 2014, Mike and I travelled to Kansas and apart from the Lot 1 bull settled in on Lot 11 as our pick of 300 bulls, a son of that high – selling donor the year before. His 50K card indicates he is in the Top 3% for Carcass Weight, Marbling and Heifer Pregnancy, Top 5% for Tenderness, Top 7% for Docility and Top 15% and 18% for Weaning Weight and Yearling Weight. His $Value Indexes have him in the Top 1% for $B and $QG and Top 3% for $G. Knowing the cows in his pedigree make us very anxious to get his daughters into production.
