SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2022 MAPLE HILL AUCTIONS, HANOVER, ONTARIO SALE BEGINS AT 1:00 PM A POWER STAC KE D O FFE R I N G ; TH E BEST OF TH E I R R E S PECTIVE H E R DS .

PROGRESSING FORWARD. AAC has become a nationally recognized and highly acclaimed sale throughout the industry, and we could not be prouder to say so. The many great bovines that have graced the ring at Maple Hill have landmarked Labour Day Saturday in Hanover as the place to be. I still clearly remember the day, a mere 11 years ago, that Dave Hasson called me to take over the AAC sale, which was currently being held at Gold Bar in Guelph, Ontario. The heritage around AAC as the birthplace of the famed GoldBar sale in enormous, and a legacy we at T Bar C are thrilled to carry on. Fast forwarding from the original sale in Guelph, Hanover has sure made AAC proud. As you browse through this catalogue, you will find cover pages for each section of the sale, where you can read about the past high sellers and success stories of AAC sale purchases. This archive of success will give you an idea of the caliber of cattle that AAC has boasted. We could easily go on about the cattle on offer in this years edition, like every other catalogue. But I truly believe we have selected with a fine tooth comb the best presentation of cattle offered in AAC history, and they will speak volumes themselves. We ask you to join us for this grand event. We are so excited about the Angus industry and cattle business in general, as we believe the genetics that have been put forth in this very event are the kind to make a difference in progressing forward.

NORTH PERTH BARBARA 507

IN THEIR PRIME. It is not very often that the opportunity presents itself to aquire your next program advancing female off the top of a breeders herd. At AAC, we are proud to offer a selection of young, fresh, single lot cows that are truly in their prime. When mentioning past sale highlights in this division, we must start with North Perth Barbara 507, consigned to the 2018 sale by Meadow Bridge Angus and purchased by Merit Cattle Co. for $20,000. The Liebrich family saw tremendous show ring success with this female, being named Grand Champion Female at Manitoba Ag Ex, Reserve Champion Female at Agribition, and the 2019 Show Female of the Year. Another example of success was found in 2018 with the purchase of Rehorst Eliminator June 502C for $30,000 by Strongbow Farms. A President son of this donor led off the 2020 Strongbow Bull Sale catalogue, as well as a Stunner son of hers being a sale feature in this past years offering. We can also find Rehorst Evening Tinge 414B pictured here, purchased in 2017 by Glencross Cattle Co. for $37,000. The 2021 consignments highlighted here include Leela Pioneer Tinge 20Z puchased by Allandale Angus for $16,000, and Siebring Blackcap May 631 purchased for $29,000 by Heathcote Angus.

PRODUCTION AND PROFIT. We would challenge you to find a sale that consistently offers the same quality of donor type females, in the volume that AAC provides. The cow-calf pair section provides cows that have already proven themselves quality producers with their progeny displayed alongside them sale day. These cows represent the most highly regarded Angus cow families, are the productive kind while still maintaining beautiful body score, and are at the end of the day the type you will want to look at in your front pasture. The heifer or bull calf at foot of these cows are fresh, eyecatching, and extremely worthy and capable of advancing even the most established of herds. The 2021 edition of Autumn Angus Classic provided many instances of how high the quality of females that walk through the ring in Hanover is. The tremendous Lot 8 cow was purchased by Rehorst Farms as a high selling bred heifer in the 2019 AAC from the great people at Maple Line Farm for $10,000. Her stout, good looking, President heifer calf was described as one of the best that has ever been around the Rehorst operation. She went on to fetch $30,000 to Lynden Manor. Catalogued right beside this outstanding pair as Lot 7 and 7A is Premier NP Pride 932 with her OHL Gunner heifer calf. This cow is a maternal sister to the Falls View 2020 $40,000 high selling heifer calf to Gavin Cattle Co., Premier Pride 015. Clarke Family Farm purchased this cow, and is sure to reap the benefits of the genetic powerhouse provided through this event.

THE CORE OF AAC.

In a sale that hosts Angus cattle of the highest caliber possible, to have the bred heifer offering be the most highly regarded section year after year is no small feat. An AAC bred heifer must be striking in her design and look, be backed up in appearance by distinguished paperwork, and carry a service that is highly desirable and marketable. Looking back through Autumn Angus Classic history, you will find that bred heifers purchased through this sale have gone on to write their own legacy within the winning bidders program and beyond. We do not have to look back far to find an example of this narrative. Just this past year, the first ever registered progeny in Canada of S A V America sold through AAC for $58,000 to Carelea Angus. The potential this Blackcap May 273 daughter holds is staggering. Looking further on, in 2017 a bred heifer consigned by Rehorst Farms called Rehorst Evening Tinge 617D sold to Johnson Livestock for $10,000. To see examples of the progeny produced by an AAC heifer, look to Lot 69 in the historic dispersal, and Lot 314 in the Johnson family’s final bull sale. Also pictured here is Harprey Grace 10G, who sold in the 2020 sale for $12,000 to Midland Cattle Co., and who represents the type of complete and promising female this sale is known for, from the model of reputable breeders we are proud to represent. This definition is again represented by Kemp Brothers Lady 34H, selling in 2021 to Deacon Ridge. She is a beautifully made power heifer, backed by a sire mothered by one of the Kemp’s best cow families, and a past $27,250 cow on the bottom side.

A WORLD OF POTENTIAL. Good cattle never go out of style, and are always going to be highly desired. With the cattle business as electric as ever, we are proud to offer a selection of heifer calves in AAC that have look, pedigree, and data backing them. These girls are pictured in early July, but even so, it is easy to be struck by the immense potential that these heifers have to be at the front of their class. Pictured at the bottom of this page is the high selling heifer calf from the 2020 edition of AAC, purchased by Leela Farms. The dam of this striking female is Leela Pioneer Tinge 20Z, who herself was the high selling cow in this very sale in 2014, purchased by Rehorst Farms for $7,300. Speaking of the great breeders at Leela Farms, pictured at the top of this page is their consignment from AAC 2020, Leela Evening Tinge 20H. The Leeflang family purchased the dam of this heifer in AAC 2017 as a high selling bred heifer. They were drawn to the fact that she was a part of the famed Evening Tinge family, and also the 2280 female on the bottom side of her pedigree, and who can argue with the results when she can produce a heifer calf of this quality. When speaking of great cow families, we must mention the famed Blackbird’s of Locust Grove Angus. Pictured on this page is Locust Grove Blackbird 17F, who was a part of the high selling heifer calf pair in 2018. A stylish heifer that commanded a second and third look from anyone touring the Maple Hill pens on sale day.

CREAM OF THE CROP. While the caliber of females that have and continue to grace AAC is staggering, this should not cause the exceptional herd bull candidates to be overshadowed. These young bulls are manly looking calves, come to us with impressive amounts of substance and shape, and are backed by the type of mothers you would want your entire herd to resemble. Pictured above is Rehorst Reno Colossal 2J, who sold to Tullamore Angus for $9,000 in 2021. This calf came to us with an abundance of muscle shape, while still maintaining an ideal leg and beautiful head. It will be exciting to see the mark he makes for the Jackson family. This stud’s mother is Kemp Brothers Rosebud 46G, a beautiful, ideal sized Renovation daughter. This female was purchased as a bred heifer through AAC 2020 from Kemp Brothers, who have what is arguably one of the nicest cow herds in all of Ontario.

As we seem to f ind ourselves doing more ET work each year, “Lady” is truly the kind to invest time and money in. Lady is a true Angus female with mass, volume, angluarity, level hips, great phenotype, good solid udder, perfect feet and a super nice disposition.
