THESIS PROJECT - FISHING HARBOUR AND COASTAL COMMMUNITY DEVELOPEMENT
chettuva, one of the fishing harbour in thrissur and a famous tourist spot .Over a years it has been confronted with problems like lack of infrastructure, unhygienic surrounding. This thesis is therefore intended to examine the issues and there after purpose an architecture design solutions to the problems associated with it.Tourism has always been an integral trigger in the growth & development of the economic cycle of any region. It is important to rethink of the organic development happened around fisherman community to reform it as per today.
The aim for this project is to revitalize the existing fishermen's activity area based on the concept of adaptablity and flexibility of the site towards the development but at the same time must reflect back to the principles and characteristics on physical environment (coastal area) and the relationship with the fishemen community.

The restaurant block is in 3 different levels to let the users enjoy the vistas towards the beach and backwaters.
The building material is mostly concrete with bricks to give cooling and to maintain thermals naturally. As it is exposed to sea breeze and salty sea air, the piers and building exterior elements are of steel and concrete piers for underwater construction.
Fsh market , auction hall and workers quarters is designed to be as a cluster so that it would be easier for the people to work or visit without being scattered as a unit.

3 levels of parking with multilevel parking for hotel and office.
The form evolution starts with a cuboid form which acts as the base of the tower thus forms into shopping malls structure.
The tower has a oval /cylindrical structure with of concrete and steel.The facade has a intricate voids and sections for lighting which is of slar glass. green patches are given as double skin facade for the reduction of rising heat.
MIXED USE TOWER DESIGN deals with the complexity of creating a design which incoporate all the functional elements needed for diffeent typologies of spaces.
This tower has SHOPPING MALL,OFFICES, AND FIVE STAR HOTEL. clubbing three different typologies of spaces thus create different problems. the tower has private access and cant be reached from mall levels.
HOTEL with presidential suites to swimming pools, resto bars.
SHOPPING MALL having 5 floors with multiplex screening. OFFICE with flexible co-working, private and open offices.

AMENITIES ARE PROVIDED AT THE CENTER OF THE SPACE. THE U SHAPED BUILDING OPENS TOWARDS THE AMENITIES BLOCK WITH MEDITATION CENTER,PLAY AREA,YOGA, AND HERBAL GARDEN.
