Introduction Knowing the fundamentals of the appraisal process is critical to successfully managing the real estate lending process. This course not only takes participants “back to basics” to refresh their understanding of appraisal principles, it offers insight about what's on the horizon and how your institution can gain value from the appraisal process beyond just going through the motions of fulfilling regulatory requirements.

About the Presenter Ancin Cooley is the founder and managing partner of Synergy Bank Consulting, Inc., the risk management advisory firm dedicated to helping financial institutions optimize their security, compliance, and business performance. Cooley brings deep, first-hand experience gained from working for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) as an examiner. During his tenure at the OCC, he performed safety and soundness examinations at community and mid-size banks that ranged from $100 million to $8 billion dollars in total assets located in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Florida. After leaving the OCC, Cooley worked for a regional accounting firm where he led loan reviews and internal audits. Cooley specializes in preparing financial institutions for regulatory exams, process improvement, and project management. When not advising clients, Cooley designs and conducts targeted professional development trainings for the banking field.


Cooley holds a master’s of accounting and financial management from Keller Graduate School, a bachelor’s degree in business from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. He is a member of the Risk Management Association (RMA), Appraisal Institute, Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), and Information Systems Audit Control Association (ISACA).

Registration Fees *Early-bird registration fees apply to those individuals registering one month prior to the date of the program. Persons registering after this date must pay the regular registration fee. Late registrants cannot be guaranteed admission if seminars reach capacity. Fees include hand-out materials, refreshment breaks, and lunch. An income-tax deduction may be allowed for educational expenses undertaken to maintain or improve professional skills.

Cancellation Policy Registrants cancelling two days prior to each seminar receive 100% refund; one day prior, 50%; the day of the seminar, no refund. All cancellations must be made in writ ing prior to the seminar day. Invoices and training materials will be sent to all “no shows.”
