This research project, completed for a Georgetown University English class entitled "The Question of Equality", is a syllabus for a course that puts discourses on Islamic women's veiling in contention with problematic areas of Western fashion (hyper-sexualization, cultural appropriation). It intends to highlight the complexities and nuances within intersections of gender, culture and expression of self through clothing.
